I’ve got heartbreaking news:
Maestro Angelo Badalamenti has passed away yesterday at the age of 85. This terribly sad news has been confirmed by multiple family members.
While I am at a loss for words while writing this, I am so grateful his beautiful music will always be in the air…
In today’s Weather Report, David Lynch hinted at the loss of his ‘brother’ Angelo Badalamenti with the cryptic words: “Today… no music.”
Oh, Angelo… Rest In Peace.
Rest in peace to the master
I’ll see you in the trees
Under the sycamore trees
First Julee earlier this year, and now Angelo, NO! We’ve lost the muses behind the music of Twin Peaks this year, folks! In honor of Badalamenti, rewatched the template setting Blue Velvet this evening. Undoubtedly, the world lost one of the great composers of our era. RIP, sir. You’ve left a mark on so many of us.
Rest in Peace Maestro, Your music will always be part of our lives
Even now it fills me with sadness. What further proof is there of our fondness for this man and his great music!
