What if Leonardo Da Vinci‘s late 15th-century mural painting, The Last Supper, took place in Twin Peaks? There would be a lot of donuts and coffee on the table, that’s for sure. And no creamed corn, as requested.
With over 1,000 likes, Twin Peaks fans responded very positively to the Twin Peaks interpretation of the The Last Supper, first posted to the Welcome to Twin Peaks Facebook page last night by a certain “Alan Smithee”*. Of course, its creator had to make a tough choice regarding the cast, but many key characters are included in the image. And if you’re missing Laura Palmer, look again.
UPDATE: “Alan Smithee” is actually Teeno Crippa, a singer and big David Lynch fan who lives not far from Milan, Italy. “I remember the first time I saw the first [Twin Peaks] episode, I was fascinated by the plot and the soundtrack. Sometimes I feel nostalgic, so I decided to bring [the characters] together in The Last Supper, revisited by myself.” Teeno writes us. Dale Cooper, Audrey Horne, The Man From Another Place, The Log Lady, Killer BOB and Leland Palmer were obvious choices, but other characters were included specifically to balance out good and evil. When asked which characters he would’ve loved to include, Teeno named Shelly Johnson, Windom Earle and Mike Gerard, but sometimes, you just have to kill your darlings.
