Now We Know The New Twin Peaks Cast, Who Would Make A ‘Killer’ BOB?

The late Frank Silva is irreplaceable, but which new Twin Peaks cast members are potential Killer BOB recasts?
This post was published a while ago. Please keep its age in mind and if you find any errors, feel free to comment.

Ok, so this list of Killer BOB lookalikes didn’t convince David Lynch and Mark Frost. But unless old footage and/or visual effects are involved, there probably is a new BOB on that new Twin Peaks cast list. It’s arguably one of the biggest question marks around the new series, so let’s take a look at some of the candidates for the face of “the evil that men do.”

Robert Knepper

Robert Knepper

When Robert Knepper’s name leaked very early on, a lot of fans quickly assumed he’d be Killer BOB because of his spine-chilling performance as Theodore ‘T-Bag’ Bagwell in Prison Break. Since he didn’t wrap until March, his role is possibly quite substantial. But Killer BOB substantial?

Eddie Vedder

As Killer BOB?

Are you kidding?

Just wait until you see this…

Frank Collison

A David Lynch alumnus, Frank Collison portrayed Timmy Thompson in Wild at Heart. That means he probably met and worked with the late Frank Silva, who was a prop master on that set.

Several people have suggested he’s a strong candidate for the part of Killer BOB, but it was hard to find a photo that somewhat resembled Frank Silva’s look. What do you think?

Ray Wise

It’s a fan theory, but… no.

Ray Wise’s BOB potential? 0 out of five death bags.

Awesome to see you back though, Ray!

Mike Malone

Mike Malone, sometimes credited as Elgin Marlow, had a non-speaking part as an FBI agent in Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me, but he’s portraying a different character in the new series.

Why that character could be Killer BOB? Because he’s also credited as the on-set dresser. Just like Frank Silva before he unwittingly became Killer BOB back in 1989. And wouldn’t it be very David Lynch to cast the on-set dresser as Killer BOB again? For laughs?

Vincent Castellanos

You may remember Vincent Castellanos as Ed from Mulholland Drive.

From Anaconda?

Or K-911 with Jim Belushi? Uhm… Maybe not.

But of all the people on the Twin Peaks cast list, the long-haired Vincent Castellanos is definitely the closest doppelgänger of Frank Silva.

Who do you think is the best Killer BOB recast, or do you have another theory?

I don’t know why you’re pinning on who plays Bob on mere looks. Vincent Castellanos is all wrong! Bob needs more than looks. Bob needs presence and down right creepiness. I think Frank Collinson fits perfectly. Stop trying to find a mainstream look-alike and look deeper in these people’s eyes.

  2. Cassandra says:

Assuming Bob can take the form of people he’s possessed in the past, I think Leeland/Ray would actually be awesome.

  3. Tim says:

Who says BOB has to be a male? Jennifer Jason Leigh would be stupendous.

    That or Jim Belushi.

  4. Lolo says:

Why is Ray Wise a 0? He was sinister after the series reveal and absolutely menacing in FWWM. Plus he’s been pretty much typecast as a malevolent force since, appearing as the actual devil in a few things and as a surreal force in Tim & Eric and some other Adult Swim outings.

  5. Anonymous says:

I’m wondering why Balthazar Getty isn’t on this list? He’s got a bit of a ‘Bob’ look about him.

  6. moonbearcorner says:

I think Bob’s appearance and costume probably stay similar over time as Leland describes Bob meeting the Bob we met as a young boy, decades before the death of Laura. It will be real interesting to see whether we see if anyone can frighten Bob in the new series as much as he terrorized people in 1 and .

  7. Vincek says:

There’s just one minor problem with Vincent Castellanos being BOB. He ain’t scary. That he used to have long hair in the 90s doesn’t change that.

  8. sTeViL says:

    he might be scarier

  9. Personally, I’m hoping for “old footage and visual effects” for BOB. In the original run, BOB didn’t have very many lines. It was always about his very menacing presence. I see no reason to recast him, especially if remastered and prehaps even previously unseen footage exists. Either way, I trust David Lynch to make the right decision.

  10. Simon says:

Ray Wise is one of the best actor in the franchise, Leland Palmer it was the human container of Bob’s Evil for so much time, it would make sense if Leland in the Years take his place as aesthetics representation of Bob.

  11. TEMPERANCE says:

    Russell Brand ?!

  12. Simon says:

i hope not Russell Brand, there so many good actors in the revealed list.

  13. Eric from Sweden says:

I’m still having a hard time getting over the fact that Windom Earle won’t be returning. That, and Cathrine Martell. I would have hoped for some strange events taking place in the fields of the Ghostwood Project, due to the fact that they devasted so much of the Ghostwood forest in the building process. Some haunted places and such. I would have lovded that.

    • Rob B. says:

We may see that still, if Ben Horne has reverted to his original villainy. With Andrew Packard and Catherine Martell gone, the Ghostwood Project probably ended up in legal limbo.

    • MR says:

No Leo, Donna, Man from the Other Place, and Harry being replaced by another actor too. No Annie or Billy Zaine too, a lot of holes, but 25 years have passed so a lot changes.

  14. MR says:

    Trent Reznor

  15. Liam says:

I don’t understand this whole who-will-play-BOB roller coaster.

in two seasons, he had less than 10 minutes of total screen time, most of which was non-speaking.. and yet, he continues to be one of the most pivotal/memorable/talked about characters.. why do you suppose that is?

Frank Silva was BOB.. there is no viable replacement.. the only logical solution is to go to the unused archives.. digitally enhanced and isolated, his character can be inserted into any scene Lynch sees fit.. the integrity of his presence can continue uncompromised.

  16. Eric says:

My vote would be for Ray Wise.
Wasn’t Bob just a vessel for a spirit? The forms taken by Bob and Mike (above the convenience store) are not permanent. The impact of seeing Leland as Bob would be the strongest and tie together his existence with Laura and Coop in the Lodge.

  17. Mauro says:

    Tim Roth.

  18. jon says:

Ray Wise doesnt make sense for the fact he was already possesed by Killer Bob already, Killer Bob is just the evil in Man, it just finds a host body that will do its bidding, so it really could be anyone

  19. Lolo says:

Well, the reason it could be Ray Wise is that the BOB he knew from his childhood is identified as the same BOB we and Cooper see – meaning BOB was taking the form of a previous human host when we saw him. Mike, the one-armed man, is very clearly a human vessel – yet we see the spirit inside him take his form within the lodge in FWWM. My assumption was always that BOB has no real form (except for, possibly, owls?) and can choose whatever form he wants, which just so happened to be the vessel that corrupted Leland. Until we have more ‘rules’ about the mythology confirming or denying this, it could go in any direction very easily.

  20. Eark1983 says:

    Surprize! Kyle MacLachlan.

  21. Todd says:

Bob does have a real form though. When the p[olice took Mike in for questioning before the reveal that Leland was Laura’s killer, Mike pointed at the picture of Bob and said that the picture of Bob was his truer face. Few can see it. Only the gifted and the damned. Bob’s form was the Frank Silva enacted form. With that said, Bob could potentially take the form of other people too. It was never really addressed in the oroiginal series what the rules are.

  22. Ross says:

Am I crazy? I always felt Bob was American Indian; that he was a lost wandering spirit, and the pain felt by Native Americans.

  23. Solon says:

Vincent Castellanos is way too handsome to play Bob. I mean, it’s not like Silva was ugly but he had this unique look that got him the part. I’ve played with the idea that Leland Palmer will be the physical representation of Bob in the new series. In any case whatever Lynch will choose, it will without a doubt work. We all know that Bob needs to be back in some form or the new series won’t have much of a base.

    • Solon says:

Added to that, I think if it’s not Ray Wise– then it needs to be someone completely unknown like Silva was at the time for the character to carry a scary aura.

  24. ELiza says:

    my friend Adrian Ko?odziejczyk?

  25. Christian Hartleben says:

I propose Ted Dowling (confirmed Season 3 cast member).

I think his BOB-like stare is delightfully menacing.

  26. Karon says:

    Hugh Dillon

  27. Stefan Gustafson says:

My vot would go to Carl McCoy of the English gothrock band Fields Of The Nephilim.

  28. GR says:

    Beetlejuice be the man.
