When will it be available to stream?

Well, as much as I loved season 3 (even if it wasn’t the season I was hoping for), I simply dislike this artwork so much, that I don’t think I will purchase it.

The Gold Box DVD’s and the Blu Ray boxed set had amazing art. But this… It really hurts my eyes in a bad way.

    • jon says:

the gold box had terrible art
and other than the artwork, are you gonna be staring at the box or watching the bluray

      • franckd says:

To answer to your mean & cynical question : no, I won’t be starting at the box. The most important is the show. And I have already seen it twice in 1080 p.
Like most fans, I have been thinking a lot about it. I have read many theories, and if that matters, I have mines.

But right now, It’s about to make fans buy a materialized version of this third season (that most of them have already seen). So yes, the art of the box, and the box itself, are important for some collectors/fans. I really, really love the first Blu Ray edition of seasons 1/2+FWWM. It’s absolutely gorgeous. It’s an object – a materialized version – that is so good to touch, to hold and to look at. Sure, that’s not the most important, but yet it’s important too, at least for me. Obviously this made you think less of me. Or maybe it made you feel better about yourself. Anyway, none of my concern.

Personally, I hated the design of the Entire Mystery just looking at pictures of it online, but when I got my hands on it, I thought it was a beaut. Maybe you should keep an open mind until you see it in person at a store?

        • jon says:

my comment wasnt mean, sorry you took it that way, i simply meant why fuss bout artwork when we cant change it.
and people saw the original series and FWWM several times but still bout the entire mystery when it came out. and people will still buy this set when it comes out and will just have to deal with artwork untill the company releases it again in few years with more footage and different art

Skip 6 hours of extras because the box ain’t pretty? You can always hide it somewhere 😉

  3. Need a condensed version. Not enough story to rewatch 18 hours.

  4. Scott says:

@Paxton Sarazin: Yes! Skipping the bridges to nowhere would be nice. Steven and Gersten, in the forest, for example.

  5. Matt says:

In terms of special features, I think it would be great if, following in the footsteps of the Inland Empire DVD, there was a “More things that happened” feature. Also, one way or another, I’d like some clarification if the Missing Pieces from FWWM are considered canonical, as the new direction they took Judy seems to contradict the Buenos Aires scene with Jeffries, where she’s a young lady who’d left him a letter at the hotel desk, instead of a monster mauling the desk clerk to death.

    • John Carruthers says:

I don’t see how that scene contradicts Judy in any way.

It could be two different Judy’s

It could be some sort of host for “Judy!”

I see Missing Pieces as Canon. I guess everyone has their own person canon, though.

      • Gabe says:

The Judy references from The Missing Pieces are not canon, as it has already been stated that the idea for Judy was “redeveloped”. Think of it like Jabba the human in Star Wars, he might’ve been canon, until they made Jedi.

It could be another Judy, but given the context that’s unlikely.

  6. All I care about is them re-editing the end credits of each episode, to include a bloopers reel – a’la Smokey and the Bandit. Couldn’t care less about anything else. Maybe a season trailer and an interactive menu.

  7. jon says:

maybe the musical numbers without the credits
the julee cruise performance was very short compared to the other acts

    • Gabe says:

Yeah I was looking forward to her singing immensely and it was cut right down. That was disappointing, especially as we knew she was going to be the last performer.

  8. “as the new direction they took Judy seems to contradict the Buenos Aires scene with Jeffries, where she’s a young lady who’d left him a letter at the hotel desk, instead of a monster mauling the desk clerk to death.”

I don’t think it really contradicts “The Missing Pieces”. Judy may very well have changed hosts. If Judy is, in fact, inhabiting Sarah, as many seem to think…she was capable of holding it together ..the sleazeball at the bar was warned to leave her alone..she only killed him when he persisted.

  9. “Making of” material, with really in-depth coverage of the making of Part 8-extensive interviews with DL or his commentary on each episode, with MF of course. Now that they can talk, cast interviews as well.

  10. John Carruthers says:

    I would like a director’s cut with longer scenes…

  11. DEED says:

The artwork is a little bit ugly but meaningful.
The season 1/2 Bluray set cover was Laura with 2 faces , now this is Dale with 2 faces… Dead and alive for Laura Good and bad for Dale…

  12. Shorter episodes with Smokey and the Bandit style end-credits is all I want to. Not looking forward to canon deleted scenes or brand new interviews at all. 😉

  13. Ryan says:

Just to irk people I want there to say that there’s an explanation of what happened to Audrey but then it cuts to Gordon Cole whistling Rammstein again.
Any extras are welcome. I think this is the most Lynchiest Lynch that Lynch ever Lynched.

  14. Windom Earle says:

Laura is the one. She is meant to be shocked into the realization that she is indeed Laura Palmer and her ‘garmanbozia’ is too much for Judy to absorb. This is why the electricity shorts out at the end and it turns to black. Coop new this and perhaps this is what Laura whispered to him in the Black Lodge. Her sheer terror when she realizes the truth overloads Judy and destroys her/it. This was the end of Judy.

  15. Zach says:

Must-have. I just hope there are a bunch of new extra’s.

    • Chris says:

Same here but no ‘making of’ for me and certainly not blooper which, I assume, people must be joking about. I dislike making of material for any film or TV but certainly not Twin Peaks or other DL work. Of course I realise it’s not real but I don’t want to peak behind the scenes, I’d rather the illusion stay a strong as possible

  16. Sparks says:

Oh man, how exciting! Now we can watch the absolute worst thing David Lynch ever created on Blu-ray. It’s a rare honor to get a chance to flush money down the toilet on 18 hours of complete boredom. I hope it’s absurdly overpriced so I can delude myself into thinking that this season was something special.

  17. Mike Smith says:

YAWN. I bought the series on VHS and the additional pilot since it wasn’t included, both seasons of the first dvd release, Fire walk with Me dvd, The Gold Box set, and the Blu Ray Set. I WILL NOT BUY THIS HORRIBLE THIRD SEASON. What a disappointment and complete slap in the face to Twin Peaks fan. David Lynch: How dare you try and start something new when all you needed to do was wrap up the original story. We (TP fans) did not want a new story, we wanted closure to a great series. The limitations placed on the original series by ABC, is what made it great I’m my opinion. Lunches Shiwtime acid trip was unwatchable. You can keep these crappy episodes, I’ll watch the old ones when I want to see real Twin Peaks.

    • Jeff rone says:

I’m a (TP fan) and this was everything I wanted and more? I guess the “real” Twin Peaks was the version not fully authored by the real creators? Bird up.

  18. Edward Mander says:

The third season was awesome, pure art. Frost and Lynch made a beautiful thing.

  19. BG says:

There needs to be a mini-film documenting Jerry’s trip through the woods.

Strangely (or perhaps not), my biggest disappointment in this season was there was just not enough Ben and Jerry.

  20. with ME!!! says:

How could it possibly been anything like season one? for goodness sake, they would have needed to fix season two to make me have any faith!

  21. Robin Marshall says:

Ha! I preordered months ago, and guess what? “Out of Stock”

    WTF??

    lol Thanks Amazon.ca!

(Possible consolation? Is this perhaps a good indication that more people than expected are giving a shit and are purchasing it? Every little bit of financial movement helps for a season four…)
