Would You Bring Back Twin Peaks? Netflix: “Absolutely!”

Netflix's Chief Content Officer, Ted Sarandos, is absolutely interested in bringing back Twin Peaks.

I know not every fan out there is fond of the idea to bring back Twin Peaks, but Netflix is.

As the current Chief Content Officer at Netflix, Ted Sarandos is responsible for the video streaming service’s venture into original programming such as House of Cards, Eli Roth’s Twin Peaks-influenced Hemlock Grove and the upcoming brand new season of Arrested Development. When asked whether Netflix would be interested in reviving and continuing the story of Twin Peaks, Sarandos responded with a very positive “Absolutely!

Just saying…

…and hoping Mark Frost and David Lynch are listening.

Twin Peaks, a Netflix Original Series?

In other news, Netflix UK recently removed Twin Peaks from its library because the contract expired. Let them know you want it back by retweeting the following tweet:

UPDATE (July 2013): Richard Altman (Constant Context on YouTube) made this mock teaser for a return to Twin Peaks on Netflix in June 2016. Wishful thinking?

Founder and curator of Welcome to Twin Peaks since 2011. Bobsessed since March 1991.

What's your response to this?

    Only if Frost/Lynch were involed.

  2. Dave says:

I’d be down if Lynch had final cut on the script.

  3. Jed says:

It would bring great wonder and joy into being. I trust Mark and David, and I have no doubt that this could be a transcendent event. I feel it was meant to be.

  4. TP says:

I would like it if, rather than bring it back, Frost and Lynch teamed up for a prequel series. That I would watch.

  5. Sierra says:

I would definitely watch it, but I dont think I would enjoy it as much

  6. big will says:

    Totally

  7. David says:

No thanks. I just love the show as it is. I know it’s earned a new following of younger viewers, but in this generation where networks respond greatly to viewer requests and demand, i just hope it doesn’t taint the show. Leave it alone.

Also, Netflix care enough about Twin Peaks to have completely removed all of the first and second seasons from their roster here in the UK.

  8. Max says:

No. Let it rest in peace.

  9. Scott says:

I’d watch it no matter who was involved. I love Quentin Tarantino as a director and have seen many of his “Quentin Tarantino Presents” movies which turned out to be worth my time. I think the same applies here. We all like to reminisce but we all know how uninvolved David was with the show while filming Wild at Heart. So if it got a reboot, would we really be experiencing something that different other than having a recast?

I’d like to watch Twin Peaks season 3 only if Lynch & Frost are involved. Anyway, some weeks ago David was in France for a movie festival or something like that and said ‘I’m thinking about a tv show’… it could a Twin Peaks sequel or something different… but I’m looking forward to seeing David back on tv!

Nah. Let Lynch do a new series on Netflix instead. Give him final cut and full creative control.

  12. Sturle says:

    YES definitely 😀

  13. LogLady says:

    The Log said No.

  14. Gina says:

I have to wait 3 years for it to come out?!?!?! are u kidding?!?! I just got into it and im dying!!!

  15. RodimusBen says:

Yes, yes, yes. The story of Agent Cooper and his battle against Killer BOB must be resolved! Now would be the perfect time, too, because we are close to 25 yes after the show, which is the length of time Cooper was said to have been trapped in the Black Lodge.

  16. The Owls says:

    “I’ll see you again in 25 years….”

That clock is ticking, Mark and David. Don’t pull a Chris Carter and miss your timeline. 🙂

Seriously, you need to finally get Dale out of that lodge.

  17. Raymond says:

Please. Only if lynch is fully involved.

I recently finished watching the series for the first time on Netflix. Wow – I now know what the big deal is about. I personally believe that the second half of the second season was much more interesting than the Laura Palmer investigation (although I truly enjoyed that as well!). It just feels that the story was just “getting its true North” as it ended. Because of the pure perfection of it all, I’ve gone back and forth, and wondered if a third season would ruin how I feel about it. The answer I’ve come up with is “No way!” A third season would be so original to come back now, as Laura says, 25 years later. So many interesting ways to proceed – I need closure! As a gal from Missoula Montana, please David Lynch, bring Twin Peaks back!

  19. Warren says:

The story of Twin Peaks needs a resolution. Obviously Lynch & Frost would need to be involved and it wouldn’t even need to last that long! 7 or 8 episodes to finish the great story that started so long ago….

  20. David says:

Definitely! I think its style and tone are actually better suited for today’s audiences than the early 1990’s. Im shocked it did as well as it did back then. It would have to be careful not to be too aware of itself as a sequel – as many modern reboots blunder in this way.

  21. Buks Terblanche says:

I love, love, love Twin Peaks!!!!Pleas bring it back!Only 1 thing I have seen it 30 times and still do not know how was the killer??

  22. Wildcat says:

Yeah, why not? I likely wouldn’t be watching via Netflicks (are you kidding; NF on this awful net connection? Youtube barely works reliably half the time) but I’d probably check it out if they released it on disk later on.
