Enter the Lodge: http://t.co/Mi57aKDgsv #TwinPeaks #25YearsLater
— Twin Peaks (@ThatsOurWaldo) March 27, 2014
Nothing from David Lynch and Mark Frost‘s camp on the symbolic “25 years later” date last week, but that didn’t stop fans worldwide to celebrate… and create! One of those tributes launched on March 25, 2014 and is called Enter The Lodge. It’s a fan-written continuation of the show, season 3 if you will, entirely on Twitter!
Our story begins in March of 1989 with the penultimate episode of the TV series, and moves forward from there. Since Twitter did not exist in 1989, the conceit isn’t that these characters actually have Twitter accounts; rather, Twitter is simply the medium we’re using to tell the story.
There are several ways to keep track of the Twitter fan fiction: you can follow individual characters like Dale Cooper, Norma Jennings, Sheriff Truman, etc. You can follow the story in real-time on Twitter. Or tune into the Story section of the Enter The Lodge website. Here’s an older snippet, a very memorable Twin Peaks moment Twitterfied and pretty much where the fan-written fun begins:
