“I like trees and I love wood. I like to cut wood. Tonight, we’re going to a place where the trees are primarily Douglas firs.
Douglas firs are a beautiful tree and if we’re very quiet, we can hear the wind rustling the needles as we move through the forest, getting closer and closer. And now, we’re here.
Ladies and gentlemen, welcome back to the world of Twin Peaks!”
—David Lynch
The wood-heavy speech is not unlike his introduction to The Missing Pieces about 3 years ago. Hopefully, we’ll get a video soon —and Showtime should really air this right before the premiere— but for now, here’s a photo of David Lynch inside the Red Room The Theatre at the Ace Hotel while addressing the lucky invitees to the world premiere of Twin Peaks.
At the Premiere, @DAVID_LYNCH welcomed attendees back to the world of #TwinPeaks. pic.twitter.com/5jmmpzzoAH

Showtime made streaming this pure misery, but the world Mr. Lynch has created and invited us into is well worth the effort! Kudos to the cast, crew, and to Frost/Lynch productions on this amazing journey. I admit, I don’t understand all of what I’ve seen yet, but I am so bloody relieved that someone assume I CAN understand it, and that I WANT to understand it, that I don’t care! I love exploring “the Otherworld(s)” and digging into the layers of symbolism in this beautifully filmed gem. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!
And now, for some damned fine coffee and a slice of you know what…
Enjoy, everyone!
