Oh, the butterflies I felt the very first time I saw Donna Hayward lip-syncing Julee Cruise’s “Rockin’ Back Inside My Heart” in the killer-revealing episode dubbed “Lonely Souls.” I was 12 at the time, and over the course of the two seasons my teenage crushes would alternate between Shelly, Maddy, Audrey and, yes, The Log Lady Donna. Still to this day, when I hear “Rockin’ Back Inside My Heart”, I get all gooey inside. For the record, that has nothing to do with Lara Flynn Boyle anymore… It’s just a wonderful, sugar-coated love song composed by Angelo Badalamenti and written by David Lynch, masterfully inserted in that ultra shocking episode.
This brand new cover by The Crab Apples does not take away any of the song’s original magic! Au contraire! Carla and Laia, two young ladies from Sta. Eulàlia de Ronçana (Barcelona, Spain), managed to give me goosebumps with their accoustic version. The Crab Apples hadn’t heard the original before, but were asked to cover the song for David’s Lunch, El Mariachi Walk With Me… and did an amazing job at that.

Oh yeah! Greatest singers!
I love this song… and this cover is very great.
