Yankee Gal is an animated short film by Céline Desrumaux, Gary Levesques, Antoine Perez and Francois Pons, who made it in their final year at Supinfocom, a computer graphics university in France. The beautiful 3D short draws inspiration from Japanese cult films like Tetsuo, art deco, Who Framed Roger Rabbit’s Jessica Rabbit, The Running Man and… The Black Lodge’s Red Room in Twin Peaks.
An unconscious WWII pilot, who is about to make a fatal plane crash, dreams up a place with red curtains, a zig zag floor, spacy lamps and a jazzy singer:
