Brought to you by the passionate minds behind the acclaimed Twin Peaks UK Festival, A Gathering of the Angels: A Tribute and Celebration of the World of David Lynch promises two jam-packed days of screenings, conversations, performances, and experiences centered around the filmmaker who taught us to keep our eye on the donut, not the hole. As it seems an angel from Lynch’s cinematic universe leaves this earth nearly every month, the Twin Peaks–inspired name of the event feels heartbreakingly apt.
“And the angels wouldn’t help you, because they’ve all gone away”
─Laura Palmer
The weekend of September 27 and 28, 2025, Whitechapel’s Genesis Cinema in London will become the place for fans to celebrate the late filmmaker and even step into his surreal world. All while sipping plenty of damn fine coffee, of course.
Let’s have a glance at the program so far (a full lineup is expected in late August):

Revisit Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me on Saturday with an online Q&A featuring co-writer Robert Engels, music editor Lori Eschler, cinematographer Ron Garcia, and sound designer Douglas Murray. The night will also bring the first-ever UK screening of I Know Catherine, The Log Lady, the 2025 documentary on Catherine E. Coulson, complete with extended interview footage of Lynch himself, a post-film discussion with director Richard Green and David Lynch’s longtime producing partner, Sabrina S. Sutherland, who’s also slated for a separate in-depth interview hosted by BBC’s Joe Lindsay.
On Sunday, a supergroup of collaborators will trade behind-the-scenes stories from every corner of Lynchland during an online panel: Peter Deming (celebrated cinematographer of Mulholland Drive and Twin Peaks: The Return), Debbie Zoller (head of make-up on Twin Peaks: The Return and Lost Highway), Johanna Ray (Lynch’s long-time casting director), Duwayne Dunham (editor of Blue Velvet and Twin Peaks), Frederick Elmes (cinematographer of Eraserhead, Blue Velvet, and Wild at Heart), and Dean Hurley (sound designer, composer and sound mixer and longtime Lynch collaborator; Twin Peaks: The Return, Lady Blue Shanghai, Inland Empire).
Also on the schedule: a Q&A with Twin Peaks actors Michael Horse (forever our steadfast deputy Hawk), Jake Wardle (green-gloved hero Freddie Sykes), Sabrina S. Sutherland (yes, floor attendant Jackie!), as well as a Q&A with The Elephant Man cast members Dexter Fletcher (also director of Rocketman), and Lesley Dunlop (the nurse whose scream still haunts us 45 years later).
But arguably the most unforgettable moments will emerge from the weekend’s thematic performances and immersive experiences. Immersive artist Jos Porath—creator of the Black Lodge installation at the 2019 Twin Peaks UK Festival—returns with the Mulholland Drive Dreamscape, transforming corners of Genesis Cinema into a fragmented Hollywood mind-maze. Elsewhere, East London’s burlesque misfits The Double R Club push the boundaries of everything ‘Lynchian,’ while The Slow Club bar channels the smoky glamor of Blue Velvet. Just remember not to upset Frank Booth: absolutely no Heineken!
You’ll also be able to participate in a group meditation in support of the David Lynch Foundation, do the Leland shuffle to DJ sets by Tim Burgess (The Charlatans) and DJ Yoda, get a tattoo on-site, test your knowledge during The Great Lynchian Quiz, bid in charity auctions, and more surprises still to be revealed. Follow A Gathering of The Angels on Instagram or Facebook for the latest.
