“Listen to the sounds.”
—An unnamed new character played by Carel Struycken
Twin Peaks (Music From The Limited Event Series) and Twin Peaks (Limited Event Series Original Soundtrack) have an expected release date of September 8, the week after the series wraps on Showtime. Rhino will make the soundtracks available on MP3, CD and double vinyl.
The first one is a 20-track album which starts with the original Twin Peaks Theme by Angelo Badalamenti followed by “Shadow” by Chromatics as heard at the end of the premiere. If a band plays at the Roadhouse, count on it being included.
There was definitely a lack of Angelo Badalamenti in the first two parts of the new Twin Peaks, but let’s hope the Maestro is heavily featured on the second soundtrack album. David Lynch’s remix of “American Woman” by Muddy Magnolias, “Sub Dream” by David Lynch and Dean Hurley, and “Frank 2000” by Thought Gang (David Lynch and Angelo Badalamenti), and several Johnny Jewel songs are likely to appear on the albums as well. Now what about all the low-frequency humming, and the soft scratching noise?

The soundtrack will also include “Mississippi” by The Cactus Blossoms and Au Revoir Simone’s “Lark.” All songs heard at the Bang Bang Bar so far have been added to the Nighttime at the Roadhouse playlist. While you’re at it, check out the Twin Peaks 2017 Cast Mixtape too.
