A tribute to the 90s, drugs and Twin Peaks, this is the most trippy music video you’ll see this week. Make that this month. Year maybe.
\\\^?^/// (blacklodgecave) of MATER SUSPIRIA VISION feat. CARMEN INCARNADINE – She’s on Drugs (Extended Version)
Three elements make this a truly hypnotic video that I couldn’t resist watching three times in a row:
- The slowed-down synthesizer sample of Jermaine Jackson and Pia Zadora’s 1984 hit, “When The Rain Begins to Fall”. It just works.
- The video by Cosmotropia de Xam, using heavily distorted footage from Phil Donahue’s interview with the Twin Peaks cast just before the season one finale. A lot of Sheryl Lee ain’t bad either.
- Carmen Incarnadine repeating the following lyrics over and over again: “She’s in high school. She’s sexually active. She’s on drugs. She’s crying out for help.” (Well damn Cooper, that really narrows it down, you’re talking about half the high school girls in America!)
Were you able to watch it all the way through without going Johnny Horne?
Below’s the original footage. Another must-see for every Twin Peaks fan.
