The Pink Room is back for a last time… this year! Don’t worry, Franny Fluffer’s David Lynch burlesque night in New York City will continue in 2012. But for the last edition 2011 on November 29, The Pink Room will be revisiting some of its best Twin Peaks, Blue Velvet, Wild At Heart and Mulholland Drive performances from the past year. There will be new acts as well, inspired by other David Lynch films & music… Yes, I’m secretly hoping to see the Lady in the Radiator on stage!
The Tuesday evening will be hosted by Special Agent Bastard Keith, with performances by Apathy Angel, Gemini Rising, Franny Fluffer, Iris Explosion, Nasty Canasta, Satanica and Foxy Vermouth. Advanced tickets are only $10 via this link, or $15 at the door (+21). RSVP on Facebook.
The Pink Room The Best of David Lynch Burlesque, 9:00pm
Tuesday, November 29, 2011
Parkside Lounge
317 East Houston Street (at Attorney), New York City
Pictures of the previous Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me edition with Schäffer The Darklord (as MC Gordon Cole, and I do mean that in a hip hop kind of way), Nasty Canasta and Franny Fluffer.
You’re hoping to see the Lady in the Radiator is a strip show. Don’t you get that the entire scene in Eraserhead is about how pathetic, how destructive women who engage in sex outside of marriage just to please men are? Don’t you remember the sickening “please love me, I’ll even get abortions and everything!” expression on that pathetic, tragic, grotesque woman’s face? This “burlesque” show isn’t talking about tragedy and sickening, groveling misogyny. It IS tragic, sickening, groveling misogyny. It is part of the problem. It is part of the hell protrayed in Eraserhead. It is bringing hell to life. Follow the biographies of these real women who are on stage debasing themselves and encouraging men to hate and abuse women. How many of them will still be alive in ten years? How many are already addicted to drugs?
