Richard Beymer and Russ Tamblyn have a long history together going all the way back to the 1961 musical West Side Story. They shared a good number of scenes in the original Twin Peaks and now they’re both returning as town bigwig Benjamin Horne and the eccentric psychiatrist Dr. Lawrence Jacoby.
Here’s a first look at their characters after 25 years and an important part of the current-day Great Northern Hotel. Now take a guess, who’s the person in Ben’s office?
Catherine???
I would really hope so, but didn’t Piper Laurie go puplic about the fact that she’s not in the new series? I remember reading that she thought the new series would be much “darker” than the original, and therefore it wouldn’t have room for “silly Catherine” anymore. But judging by that hat shown in the picture above, and this recent pic of Laurie, it wouldn’t be completely out of place to suggest that she’s still in it.
Perhaps she isn’t, but Fumio Yamaguchi is… 😉
Pete?
He passed away years ago 🙁
Nice to see that the Great Northern hasn’t changed much…
The log lady
My guess: Sarah Palmer
Jerry Horne. No doubt.
This is an intriguing notion, though the positions in the photo indicate a certain “respectful distance” between the two. In the original series, the Brothers Horne were always close to one another in their interactions. Plus, I have a hard time seeing Jerry embrace the Western wear we see in the photo. Still, it is certainly possible that Jerry might have radically changed in the past 25 years, which might account for the distance between him and Ben…
Audrey?
Not with the gray hair or the clothing.
Another vote for the Log Lady
Another vote for Jerry 😛
It’s probably the Log Lady, but I hope it’s Catherine and the press about her not being on the show is another trick like in Season Two when her name was not in the credits. I was so disappointed to learn that Piper Laurie and Joan Chen were not going to be in the new series because their story lines were actually some of my favorite parts of Twin Peak. I will miss Josie and Catherine the most. I’m tired of other people acting like they were boring parts of Season 2 as if David Lynch did not create them. They were an integral part of creating the mystery and intrigue in town and were an echo of the exploration of good and evil and Bob’s corrupting influence. I absolutely love the part where Josie’s soul gets trapped in the wooden drawer knob and wish the new season would acknowledge that somehow.? Even if at the very least, someone pulls on the drawer knob and gets a shock. And if Catherine appears in this scene, I will be pleased as pie.
I wouldn’t put it past Lynch and Frost to pull a “Fumio Yamaguchi” on us regarding Catherine, though the Secret History implies that she becomes a recluse after the death of Andrew and Pete in the bank. As for Joan Chen, we could easily see her show up in ghost form via CGI like she did in the drawer pull (though without Harry around, I think such a move would be somewhat anticlimactic).
Ben Horne looks a little bit like David Letterman sat behind that desk
Looks like its Jacoby in the first photo too.
Jacoby. He is dressed in a new and similar style in the two photos. Also, it seems to be the same hair and, as the article said, they already shared a good number of scenes in the original.
Fastidious answer back in return of this matter with genuine arguments and explaining everything on the topic of that.
