It’s not hard to imagine a dramedy that explores the nuances of a character who added significant depth and warmth to the original series. DHSTD would revolve around an array of perplexing cases Doc Hayward solves using his sharp medical knowledge and remarkable intuition. Imagine a cross between Northern Exposure and The X-Files, set against the backdrop of Twin Peaks. A mysterious dancing plague originating from The Great Northern Hotel, a seemingly haunted hospital actually overrun by mischievous raccoons, or an irresistible new doughnut recipe that inexplicably leads to episodes of uncontrollable yodeling among the townsfolk.
