She’s So Rad Covers Julee Cruise’s Rockin’ Back Inside My Heart

New Zealand’s She’s So Rad has released its own interpretation of Julee Cruise‘s Rockin’ Back Inside My Heart, as first heard on the David Lynch-directed “Lonely Souls” episode of Twin Peaks. The three-piece band’s shoegaze version preserves the butterflies-in-the-stomach feel of the original written by Angelo Badalamenti and David Lynch, and its distortion and echo pedal effects effortlessly warp us back to the early 90s, when the game-changing episode first aired. And I’ve got good news: the MP3, mixed by David Holmes of Ocean’s Eleven/Twelve/Thirteen fame, can be downloaded for free!

Here’s a video of She’s So Rad performing the Rockin’ Back Inside My Heart cover live at O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire on May 11 2012, where they supported Ladyhawke.

If you like this, make sure sure you check out last year’s acoustic cover by The Crab Apples too.

Thanks for reading!
