I've just rewatched the scene with dark woodmen dancing around DopelDale/Cooperganger and I think BOB is no longer with him. It looks to me like they have pulled him out in some kind of cocoon with BOB's smiling face. Ray looked scared as shit...
Did BOB leave Mr. C? We see him come out of the stomach. But is he totally removed from the body? Do the woodsmen fix Mr. C (is this the first time he is called Mr Cooper?) to keep BOB in?
I think they took the oportunity to harvest BOB out of doppelgänger.
Agree, I think they took Bob out.
He will still be DoppleCoop, not Dale, and we really don't know what that will look like yet.
As for Dougie/Coop, I don't expect him to simply wake up because Bob is gone. His doppelgänger survived, so I expect more of the same. I don't see anything changing until Hawk is involved somehow. Otherwise why all the drama with the log lady and the diary pages and the room key? Lots more to unfold before we see our special agent I think.
I too had the feeling that it was Dale that woke up after the resurrection by the soot people.
I thought it was clear that he's still the doppelganger. He might be a bit less punchy and murder-y if Bob left him, but he's still the doppelganger.
The "real" Cooper is the guy that's being called "Dougie Jones." Dougie Jones is currently a tiny gold ball in the Black Lodge (and probably really uncomfortable).
So, it'll be interesting to see if DoppelCoop turns out any differently, but I am about as positive as I dare to be that he isn't the Cooper we know and love.
If anything, I'm guessing he just really wants a cup of coffee right now and doesn't quite know why.
(Although, as an aside, when I imagine myself being shot twice in the stomach by my double-crossing, worthless excuse of an accomplice immediately after getting us both released from federal prison by blackmailing the warden directly to his face while he has a gun pulled on me...a cup of coffee does sound really good.)
Is it also of significance that Ray, driving off in the getaway car afterwards, talking via cell to Philip (Jeffries, we presume?) calls him 'Cooper'? Did he do that before? Is/was evilCooper not 'Mr. C' to him and Darya? Have to rewatch the first episodes on how they call him...and what is the Jeffries/Ray connection?

HAHA! Best post I've read all day. Thank you for that.
Did it occur to anyone else while it was happening, that Mr. C almost seemed to be giving birth to Bob or something of that sort? Bob even came out in what in the dark and on my television, look like amniotic fluid/sac.
Mr. C is he's less "punchy and murder-y?" This almost makes me sad. Oh, and I'm assuming people made the connection between the gold marble that Dougie turned into and the gold ball that was Laura and the other gold blobs in that episode.....

In the car with Mr C, Ray calls him 'Mr Cooper' and it hurt my ears so I assumed that was the first time
I suddenly realized this is not the first time (a) Cooper is shot. Isn't Cooper shot in exactly the same place at the end of season 1? And isn't there also a creature that comes out of his belly (the tick?) Also, both Coopers survive the shooting.
It was the first "Mr. Cooper" among his associates we hear, positively.
When first watching, I took it that it was DoppelCoop rising full of blood, only now probably without BOB, but still evil. Gonna have to rewatch to pay more attention to his eyes and expression, though.
Maybe Mr C (minus BOB) and Dougie Coop have to meet -and perhaps merge in some way? - before Cooper returns to 'normal'...

Interesting thought....though that comes perilously close to the plot in a well-known original Star Trek episode-"The Enemy Within"-where a person is split into two-in this case"Good Kirk" and "Evil Kirk", then reunified at the end. It seems like Lynch would avoid this unless he found a way to turn it on it's head....and if anyone could, it would be Lynch!
Good questions. All I know is that I have recently taken to walking up to people I haven't seen in a while and saying "It's very good to see you again old friend" while giving a thumbs up.
Good seeing you too old friend
