Well not merge, one of them has to die as Mike said, but maybe after the Doppelgänger is dead, a fragment in him comes back to Coop to make him normal again.

I think it's possible, agreed with the dead eyes. But why would they have dug him out only to put him back in?
Perhaps they dug him out to repair him? This would explain why he woke up afterwards and was seemingly ok.
I gotta disagree, that was definitely a birthing scene with some woodsman midwifery going on. I think Bob is out and about. I keep thinking back to the "Good, you're still with me" scene. Mr. C wasn't sure about whether or not he was in there, but he knowing he was at the time was going to be useful to him.
I'm kind of surprised Ray was able to shoot him (so was he by the look on his face) maybe he owed his mind reading/future telling to Bob. Maybe Bob WANTED to get out.
In my sleeping mind I expected that after Evil Coop jumped back up we would immediately be transported to Dougie in Vegas. Dougie/Dale would all the sudden be 'awaken' and we would go from there. Boy, was I wrong.
I'm just wondering how Doppelganger can even die. Obviosuly he cannot be killed in the traditional sense. Maybe Bob needs to be removed and then kill him?

Maybe only Cooper can kill him. I keep thinking of what Hawk said about "the dweller on the threshold" in S2. That one has to face him "with perfect courage". I think only Good Coop can face Bad Coop.
