The Official Twin Peaks Game: Every Clue So Far
An official Twin Peaks video game is secretly in development. Here is a breakdown of every clue, timeline connection, and rumor suggesting we will be able to play inside David Lynch and Mark Frost's world.
A leaked Steam achievement. A three-year-old Paramount breadcrumb. A remarkably timed fan-game takedown. And a private message from Sabrina Sutherland. Let’s put all the clues on the board.
In May 2011, just a few months after launching Welcome to
At the time, I reminisced about dividing my childhood leisure time between Princess Zelda and Laura Palmer, dug up the story of a cancelled Nintendo game from 1991, and wondered what a proper

Fifteen years, dozens of playable fan-created indie games, tons of gameplay mockup art, and even an officially licensed VR experience later, something is happening, isn’t it? Something appears to be hiding inside Steam.
So, in true Dale Cooper style, let’s gather everything we actually know about the mysterious
But first things first:
Has a new Twin Peaks game been announced?
No.
As of September 16, 2026, there is no official press release, trailer, title, developer, release date, platform list or announcement from Paramount introducing a
The clue that fueled all the current
Clue #1: “Welcome to Twin Peaks ”
In early September 2026, a spectacular backend mishap at Steam exposed achievement data belonging to dozens of unreleased and, in some cases, unannounced games.
Private achievement information for numerous projects unexpectedly became accessible through Steam’s systems and was automatically picked up by services such as Exophase. Titles caught in the leak included known upcoming games alongside projects that had never been publicly announced.
Among them was Steam App 3886550.
Title: Unknown.
Developer: Unknown.
Publisher: Unknown.
Its achievements? There are two.
One is literally a test:
TEST ACHIEVEMENT
This Is A Test Achievement
The other is considerably more interesting:
WELCOME TO
Reach the Double R Diner.
Of all the cherry pie joints, in all the towns, in all the world…

Could a developer have entered this simply as dummy achievement data while testing?
Technically, yes. Harry, we’re gonna need some more clues.
Clue #2: Steam has known about this mysterious app since 2025
The SteamDB record for App 3886550 contains an interesting date.
It was first seen by SteamDB on July 16, 2025.

That does not mean the game was created that day, but that this particular Steam application entered SteamDB’s view on that date. And July 16, 2025 turns out to be a very interesting date for another reason. I’ll get to that in another clue.
The mysterious app has been lurking in Steam’s database for more than a year and it’s not dormant. Its Steam record has continued changing as recently as September 15, including multiple changes immediately after the
Clue #3: Sabrina Sutherland says “there is a game”
A day after the
“There is a game that will be coming out eventually.”

The screenshot was posted to Reddit by the fan, and the exchange has since been included in reports by NME, Yahoo!, and other outlets. There is an important caveat: she has not, as far as I can find, made this statement publicly on one of her own channels, so it’s not an “official announcement” and I doubt she’ll be the first to do it.
Let’s just hear that sentence again but in the voice of The Giant:
“There is a game that will be coming out… eventually.”
Whether that game is Steam App 3886550 is the next mystery.
Clue #4: Someone may have accidentally revealed the project three years ago
Time to rewind to September 2023. A freelance artist and game designer named Edward Dennis had an intriguing sentence on his online résumé:
“Edward is working with Paramount pictures on a video adaptation of their ‘Twin Peaks’ property.”
The sentence was discovered by
Since 2023, there has been nothing connecting Edward Dennis, a “video adaptation” by Paramount, and Steam App 3886550. They could theoretically be separate projects, but you can imagine Deputy Hawk at least raising an eyebrow at this point.
Clue #5: Paramount shut down a widely admired Twin Peaks fan game
This is where things become particularly curious. In August 2023, French developers Lucas Guibert and Jean Manzoni, working as BlueRoseTeam, released a stunning demo for Twin Peaks: Into the Night.

Rather than trying to make their
Then Paramount knocked on the door.
A published DMCA notice shows that Paramount Legal contacted the open marketplace hosting the game, itch.io, on April 15, 2025, identifying Paramount and its affiliates as owners of certain exclusive
The developers weren’t even aware of the notice immediately. On July 17, 2025, itch.io suspended access to the demo. BlueRoseTeam subsequently announced that development had been halted indefinitely. According to them, work on new material had actually picked up again shortly before the takedown so it must’ve been a major blow.
Do your palms ever itch.io? Then look at these dates:
- April 15, 2025: Paramount sends its takedown request for Into the Night
- July 16, 2025: Steam App 3886550 is first seen by SteamDB
- July 17, 2025: Downloads of Into the Night are suspended
- July 18, 2025: itch.io publishes Paramount’s takedown notice
One day.
Before anyone gets carried away: this does not prove Paramount killed the fan game because it was preparing an official game. The dates may simply be coincidence… but then BlueRoseTeam responded to the 2026 Steam leak a few days ago. They explicitly confirmed that the mysterious
“But maybe this will give you some context about why our project was cancelled.”
Well then.
That still isn’t confirmation that Paramount cleared the way for an official video game and BlueRoseTeam may not know the exact reasons behind Paramount’s enforcement either.
But what would Cooper say?

Gentlemen, when two separate events occur simultaneously pertaining to the same object of inquiry, we must always pay strict attention.
There is a game.
At this point, it is safe to assume an officially licensed
But like the song goes: who knows where or when?
The next date worth circling in red: September 21, 2026. That night, Sabrina Sutherland will appear at
Meanwhile…
Could David Lynch have been involved?
If the project really dates back to 2023 (Clue #4), early talks and, who knows, even development could have begun with David Lynch being aware, maybe even involved. But none of the evidence currently connects him creatively to it.
It’s unrelated but worth noting that in 1998, David Lynch was set to create a game called “Woodcutters From Fiery Ships” in collaboration with the Japanese multimedia firm Synergy. Unfortunately, the game never saw the light of day because it was ─what were they expecting?─ unlike any other commercial game, but a song with the same title appears on the experimental Thought Gang album he made with Angelo Badalamenti. Oh, and, of course, there’s the David Lynch PlayStation commercial.

What about Mark Frost?
Looking at The Secret History of Twin Peaks and The Final Dossier, a typical detective game seems to be right up his alley. In an interview with NME last year, Mark Frost explained he and Lynch had deliberately structured their ownership of
So maybe the biggest question remains:
Who’s the dreamer? Who is telling the story?
My three wishes for the official

A Bookhouse Boys side quest.
And regarding wish number two, I can add one tiny piece of information: I talked to him and Johnny Jewel is game. Now somebody just has to tell whoever is developing this thing.
(Oh, and please let me drive Harry’s Bronco all the way to Deer Meadow.)
Now it’s your turn.
You get three wishes for the
