Hm... I had forgotten about this evidence that it was placed under Ronette's nail later.
Did he maybe put an E under Jacques's nail?
I've got that in my mind too.
We don't know if Leland killed Jacques Renault by revenge or to protect himself (BOB inside).
But I think he had no time for the letter under the nail, Leland left the room quickly because the alarm stopped.
IN FWWM, was it Jaques who saw Leland?
I would hope they checked Jacque for any letters, I don't recall if anyone said that he was examined. I just recall him being in a bag that smiles.

You would think they would check. But then he wasn't a high school prostitute.................soooooo...................maybe not.
I thought Ronette was the only other one present at the murder that could see both Leland and Bob, as I'm pretty sure she qualified as one of the gifted/damned.

At the cabin from which Leland/BOB takes the girls, I vaguely remember Jaques getting knocked over the head by Leland/BOB. Did that happen or am I filling in blanks that aren't actually there.
Anyhow, if this is accurate, did Jaques see Leland/BOB?
I'm certain Jacque saw Leland when he suffocated Jacque at the hospital, but if I remember right, Leland took Jacque unawares when he brained him at the cabin. As for ever seeing Bob, I don't believe Jacque ever did, I'm not sure he would have even saw him, probably only the Leland version.
We are assuming that the R found was the second R in Robert. But it could be the first R and Bob is not leaving letters in that backwards linear order. We could have RoBerT instead of roB(E)RT.
Yeah, I prefer the backwards word too. But that missing E....

Jacques saw Leland outside the cabin, and it's enough to jeopardize BOB.
Leland had to hit Jacques many times before a foot kick in his face, and a bottle smashed on his skull. Only after that Jacques was unconscious.
Ahhh I'd forgotten the fight was that protracted, and goes further to explain why Jacque had to die.

Aside from being a bottom-feeding piece of human waste....... ? ?
And it looks like the Renault family hasn't improved any over the years. Somebody forgot to hug them when they were little.
Or maybe they got all the wrong kinds of hugs? Yipes!!!!
If Laura wasn't killed that night, Jacques didn't get shot either, right? Or maybe Leland still went to the cabin looking for her. I wonder what happens to Ronette in this alternate reality.
I wonder if American Girl has something to do with Ronette's story being un-did.

That totally makes sense!
And Lynch played American Woman at least twice in the season.
