Perfectly possible. Lynch and Frost seem to like to double up on names for unrelated people (MIKE/Mikey, BOB/Bobby).
Though I'll admit to having no evidence to base it on, I've been thinking that the Laura-globe was destined for a new Laura (possibly a Laura lookalike?). I wondered whether Richard and Linda might not be her parents.
Pure speculation and it leaves the "two birds with one stone" mystery to be resolved.
A Richard twin or half-sister seems to be a more like explanation but who knows.
I do believe that Linda is indeed the one living in the trailer park. I think that's the only reason Carl Rodd's character is in this new season. We all know he has been in the lodge as a Child, right? I think that is something what will have some importance in the end of this season. That, and Linda. Maybe Cooper's first stop in Twin Peaks will be at the trailer park? And Carl Rodd will help Cooper and Linda in some way.
