Did anyone else notice the long-awaited return of Gersten Hayward? She's having an affair with Steven.
I didn't realise that was her!
Anyway, I loved this episode. Things are really moving along now!
Yeah I totally thought the people hiding under the stairs were just random folks trying to avoid the rage of Becky. Didn't connect that it was Steven and certainly wouldn't have noticed Gersten. I don't think I even remembered her character.

Yup, what made me go back to check it was the fact that Alicia Witt/Gersten Hayward was the last name in the credits.
Gersten? Donna's sister with that "The full blossom of the evening..." poem? Cool! Hope we get to see some more of her.
But I just came here to say that I too think this was the best episode since the first one back in May. No fast forward moments for me anywhere. And I just loved it when that old lady from the Casino showed up to say thank you to her "Mr Jackpots". Combined with the wonderful music by Angelo Badlamenti, I thought that scene was magical.
I don't think her and Bobby are together, unfortunately. Becky is obviously their daughter and they were married (Shelly's last name is Briggs) but it is obvious they are now divorced. That's what I got from it anyway.
But yeah, that scene broke my Shelly/Bobby shipping heart for sure. I had been hoping all this time that Becky was theirs.
It's also obvious Bobby is not happy about Shelly seeing this other guy...
I though it may be him too, but it doesn't look like him.
Oh, yeah! I bet there is.
If Bobby and Shelly are still together, then Shelly gets MINUS 3867 stealth affair points. Epic fail.
Whaaa?! How did I miss that? Wow.

Hi dawg,
She plays a mean Boogie-Woogie! 😉

Gersten? Donna's sister with that "The full blossom of the evening..." poem?
Gersten was Donna's youngest sister -- we see her in the original series' eighth episode, as a pre-teen, playing piano during the episode and also under the closing credits (in place of the usual Laura Palmer prom photo). The sister you describe was middle daughter Harriet Hayward, age supposedly 13 in the original series, who was in the pilot episode and in episode 8.

That was the other Hayward sister, Harriet. Gersten was the one playing the piano.
Possibly the nearest yet to a straight drama this series has delivered. But, damn it was good. Nice to see some odd flashes of Dale Cooper here and there. Hope we get to find out what's happening with Candie; there's definitely something more than just being a space cadet.
