Back to Billy...

I tend to believe that Frost & Lynch created this ambiguous character/storyline to gives us a clue about what happens when you mess with the past.

When Bing enters the Double R at the end of part 7 and asks if anyone has seen Billy, he might well be asking us "What (not who) is Billy and what's the meaning to Billy"? It's no coincidence  (at least I believe so) that after Bing asks about Billy some changes occur inside the diner. Billy is a slippery character. When it seems we are about to know who he really is we end up knowing nothing at all.

Brilliant!!!

Not discrediting your ideas here...... I still want verification that A) he asked for Billy or did he ask for Bing, and B) Was that Bing or Billy asking? Neither?

If the evidence has already been presented, please forgive me since clearly I have missed it.  Please point in the direction of where to find it.

If not, these questions are part of this whole topic and need to be taken into account.

Well I  think there is a character in that episode named Bing in the credits,  played by David Lynchs son.

Yes. Wasn't he the one doing the crappy, loooooong sweeping job at the roadhouse?

Who was credited as the guy asking about Bing/Billy?  I gotta go back and watch that episode again.

Remember a tweet after the episode was aired :

Showtime's closed captions are wrong, per executive producer Sabrina S. Sutherland. Bing does say "Billy."

The end of my message is missing.

It means that it was very important for Sabrina Sutherland (and David Lynch of course) to rectify the CC mistake.

Bing is asking for Billy.

Huge difference when we watch what is happening in the dinner when he is coming in.

(and for all the Audrey - Billy plot some episodes later).

(I've just seen that the official french TV subtitle have the same mistake.

 And this wasn't rectified.)

Just to make clear:

I've pointed out the credits of part 7 as evidence because to me is quite clear that the actor standing at the Double R's entrance is Riley Lynch (who is playing Bing).

Luca's posts above say the rest.

Alright, we are getting somewhere .  I was unaware of the "rectification." What's funny is when it aired, I thought he said Bing at that moment. (No cc on) as did my watching partner. We rewound and listened multiple times.

Next question, was Riley Lynch the same person sweeping the floor as the one asking about Billy in the diner?

I'm not much of a detective.....  I should probably be demoted to deputy since I can bust bots or promoted to chief so I can just sit on my butt and make you all do the leg work and I can just reap the rewards.  😀

No, the sweeping guy had a different haircut.

I wasn't yet on this forum when this episode was aired, but someone (reddit ? FB ?) pointed out that Bing appeared a second time at the end of the credits. He is sitting at a table on the left with a girl, they stand up and go to the checkout counter.

This Bing scene is driving me nuts. This series is driving me nuts.

(I've checked the awful dubbed french version and same mistake with a loud accent : "Bingeuh")

Lol, I can't keep up.  I'm on this forum 16 hours a day it seems like and I still can't keep up or remember half of what has happened or been discussed.

Maybe David Lynch have filmed all the bands on stage scenes many months after the shooting in Snoqualmie area.

This is the same guy, Riley Lynch :

The most accurate description of what it means to be a chief. Loved it!

Yeah, the sweeping guy was a crew member that inspired David to include him in the film in some way (kinda like Frank Silva). The inspiration became the sweeping scene. I think it was producer, Sabrina Sutherland, that shed light on this in an interview that I posted somewhere in this sea of topics and threads.

As for Bing, sorry can't help at this time. ?

Ok, ok, I'll stop questioning it.......maybe.  I still feel like something is missing, out of place or off kilter about this particular detail of the subject, but I'll let it go......for now........

Where's that chart graph thingy we've been waiting for?!  😀
