Did anyone else pick up on that comment. I'll have to paraphrase because I'm trying to remember it by memory, but when she made them coffee and Cole was trying speak rationally to Diane, he said something like:
"Something's going on. Something that you already know about. But we're not going to talk about that, are we."
Blue rose?
Diane had some kind of encounter with "Mr. C." in the past, and she maybe felt "this can't be Cooper" but then ignored the feeling and assumed it WAS him, explaining why her response initially is FUCK YOU, not gonna help if it involves Cooper.
At the beginning I wondered how the Evil Cooper would have such vast information about Good Cooper's ties to the FBI, but then it occurred to me there were probably exhaustive case notes stowed away in room 315 due to Dale's month-long investigation. And return addressed envelopes from Diane would have led the Evil Cooper straight to her.

That sounds logical.
What do we know about doppelgangers? I'm thinking that perhaps they have the same knowledge of things? The same knowledge about Coopers life at least? Just a thought.

From a story creation perspective it makes it a lot easier. Final ep. original TP, we saw Cooper running from his doppelganger, but it caught him, and we learn later that the doppelganger went out into our world & people think it is Coop.

It does make a LOT of sense.
Probably something went wrong in the last time they met; maybe Mr. C tried something phisical with her, in order to get more information.
Diane said later to Cole that someday they would talk about that encounter, lets hope they will!
I like the idea that the doppelganger retains the initial memories.
I don't yet subscribe to the idea that bad coop met Diane as I don't think this was inferred in the recent episode. We'll wait and see 🙂

+1 on that

I think we know there was a major psychological trauma to Diane-she shows all of the signs. No, I don't know what form that trauma took. The popular assumption in the forum(s) is that it was sexual abuse. It could also have been "Bob" possessing her/taking her to the black lodge, etc. Being powerless against a non-corporeal entity like a lodge being would do my head in, I know that!

ive always assumed they had knowledge of their memories up to the point of creation/birth from the lodge.
I also completely think she met bad coop in the past. i dont know HOW good coop could have managed to summon THAT much rage from anyone on his own.
