Around the dinner table, the conversation was lively. Thank you but for now, the forum has been archived.
We're through a third of this new series and Cooper is still fumbling around. He's lost his mind and nowhere near Twin Peaks. It's looking to me that aside from various minor sub plots, the Cooper VS Doppel Cooper IS this series. It's the "mystery," the conflict and will be the climax.
Cooper will (painfully slowly) gather himself up and then confront the dweller on the threshold. The End. Slim chance we'll follow a restored agent Cooper investigating some series of new mysterious events in Twin Peaks.
The series IS beautiful. Wonderful, actually. It's challenging, thought-provoking, frustrating and everything Lynch. I love it and I hate it. I suppose if I new this wasn't "it," if there was another season or seasons to come, I could lose myself in Coop's "return." Thoroughly enjoy this story and the subverting of my expectations.
But I find myself feeling deflated. That the "Return" I imagined just isnt going to happen. Ever. Nothing even close. I've never wanted to be wrong so much In my life!

I wouldn't have ever expected that to happen.
Hes been gone for 25 years and there isn't much left to explore in TP. They found the portal to the black lodge so the only thing left to investigate is the actual black lodge.
I'd say look again at what is happening part 6 in the town of TP. That gangster and his dime magic for example.
I'm incredulous that you'd want more than 18 after Showcase finally agreed to bump the episode count up from the original nine. What we're seeing is a fully-realized and fleshed out version of the Lynch/Frost vision with more atmosphere. If you think about it, episode 6 is really the second half of the original episode 3. This is making you really connect with the characters on a personal level. We're experiencing Mr. Jackpots' troubles in real time almost. If we're frustrated, just imagine how he feels.
Well, both Kyle and David said if there is enough audience, there could be more TP. So, there's that.
