Just a thought, but I suspect Dougie Jones as being the dark presence that forces Mr. Todd to do thus-far unnamed terrible things.

There is reason to suspect Dougie of being something more than a dim two-dimensional stand-up. By the time we first see him, he had been missing from home for 2 days, missing his son's birthday, while whoring about in an abandonded house. Not savory.

not sure about this one at all- his wife seems to think that they are in hock to someone, and someone IS trying to kill Dougie (which isn't necessarily an argument against my little theory). If Dougie is a scumbag, he could be playing Janey-E.
