Here is the theory:
https://medium.com/@onantiad/episodes-17-18-of-twin-peaks-the-return-are-meant-to-be-watched-in-sync-81352ce38e8

Here is the video:

PLEASE review and discuss, because I am now wondering if there are moments like this throughout the season, and if maybe the colors on the Rancho Rosa cards may signify several possible synchronicities between episodes.

You do know there's already a hot thread about this, right?  They're syncing up these two episodes and others and letting themselves find all sorts of coincidental synchronicities. You should go read the posts there if you haven't. Some interesting, wild stuff.

From about 52:30 on, nearly every major cut between scenes seems to be synched between the two episodes.  Prior to that, I don't think there are any significant synchs.

I would think many viewers would find the following to be more than coincidence.

52:33 The cut to the Palmer living room (17) is in synch with the house door being closed (18).

53:47 Sarah Palmer enters the screen (17) in synch with Cooper's movement forward (18).

54:28 Laura's scream (18) is in synch with the cut to black after Sarah smashes the photo (17).

54:34 The cut to black after Laura's scream (18) is in synch with the start of the scene with Cooper and Laura in the woods (17).

55:11 - no apparent synch with start of Laura whispering to Cooper.  However, the scream heard in episode 17 is identical to the scream heard earlier in the series after Laura whispers and is drawn out of the red room.

54:52 - The fade in of the drapes and music (17) is in synch with the fade out of the credits (18)

I do think this may be intentional, but not related to any syncing. I think this may be  to show Laura's removal from the Red Room is the result of her removal in Episode 17. The past being affected. A precursor.

Check out this thread.
http://welcometotwinpeaks.com/discuss/twin-peaks-part-17-part-18/about-the-synch-theory/

On the third or fourth page is a link to a youtube with both episodes sync'd and mashed up. It's pretty epic to watch and infinitely better than watching 18 by itself.

No, I was not aware there was another thread discussing this. I posted the synced Youtube video above. Thanks for the discussion link.
