I knew TPB were doing this, but Showtime?  That's really, really low.

Rat bastards (!) and here I thought my a/c combating the south Tex@ss heat was to blame for my spike in energy bill (seriously though that's some bullshit and f' you, too, Pirate Bay!).

I don't have a problem with TPB doing this; for one thing, they're not exactly a legitimate mainstream business and for another, they came clean about it, then stopped doing it after a trial.  Even if they reinstate it later, I ain't too bothered, since it's a way for them to generate revenue.

Showtime, however... as a regular business, they should already have their financing sorted out, and if they don't, being sneaky about something like this is a sure way to annoy customers.

Good point. I've used Pirate Bay for many years without extending so much as a penny their way (respect them, I do - thanks!). Probably should contribute in some fashion to the work that they do (even if scandanavian democratic socialist scum ?).

The latest word is that it was a hijack.  Not something Showtime was engaged in.

To paraphrase Mandy Rice-Davies, "Well, they would say that, wouldn't they?"
