Look at her face. She has no eyes. In fact her eyes are destroyed. There's something I can't quite figure out, but I feel she wasn't supposed to be seen by Cooper in the real world. When he saw her, his world is destroyed. That pool of white wasn't there for a reason. It was something about white lodge, but I don't know...

That was the moment when the whole mood shifts, where everything starts collapsing. The triumphant feeling goes away as soon as Coop notices Naido in the room. Even before she becomes Diane.

Her becoming Diane didn't change that, it didn't change when he embraced her, and didn't change whe he asked her if she was the real Diane. He was about to collapse and burst into tears. But Diane felt off, like her Tulpa, again. She always felt off.

That moment I knew it was the end. Like in the final episode of season 2, when Dark Mood Woods started playing for the first time, I knew it was over.

What do you think? What do you think she represents? The changeover never clicked.

I believe her eyes are like that to show she is a nuclear survivor. I believe Naido is Japanese for the same reason you have an American girl in purple sea scene. They are children of the Experiment, and so the nuclear age. I believe Naido is an actual entity that protected Diane while stuck in the Black Lodge, acting as both her literal and figurative cover allowing her to exit both physically and mentally once Bob was defeated. She returns to the Red Room after Diane is safely delivered.  The character serves both a figurative, horror of nuclear war, and a plot, protect and help, function. IMO.

I noticed the same.

Naido and Dale went through space, Dale came through a poweroutlet with a kid-brain, and Naido landed by the jackrabbits( http://www.waymarking.com/waymarks/WMAHAG_The_Worlds_Largest_Jackrabbit_Odessa_Texas) with no eyes. I wonder when she lost her eyes, she at least had lost them when she was in the "spaceship".

I thought the ponit when it collapsed, was when Dale knew he was going further in in journey to the past, and had to leave TP sheriffstation. At this point he knew it was the last time he saw his friends in TP, because cant know them after he savess Laura.

So, the question can also be, why did Cooper need Diane/Naido to accomplish his journey?
