Looked on Reddit for theories and found none.  Interested to know thoughts here.

It would seem that somehow Coop just knew almost everything, except the clusterfuck that saving Laura was going cause or who's doorstep he was standing on.

just as i must have missed how he knew about another waitress at the diner... all of a sudden he forgot about annie, remembered diane is more than a tape recorder and knew that laura is working as an waitress in a random cafe

Simply because he is the dreamer. How did he know which motel to stay at? How did he know to drive to Odessa in a car that he did not arrive in, leaving from a hotel which wasn't the one he had entered? What made him consider another waitress? He is the dreamer. Or he is 75% Mr. C.
