Dale and Diane clearly had a plan worked out that led to them meeting back up at Glastonbury grove and creating the Big Reset.
When he departs what may be the "false reality" of TP, he tells her "see you at the curtain call". Where (but who knows when?) she is waiting for him.
They have been working towards this end for who knows how long, and end they know will cost them everything.
