Around the dinner table, the conversation was lively. Thank you but for now, the forum has been archived.

This is above the convenience store. I've brought this up in other threads but I'm really very skeptical that above the convenience store is the Black Lodge. There is some backwards speak there but Mr. C willingly goes there when his entire purpose is to avoid going into the Black Lodge. So what is it? Some kinda hang out zone for lodge spirits? I dunno. Yeah NOTHING is obvious.
I saw your post. An excellent point. And when Dougie presumably was sucked back to the Black Lodge in Mr. C's place, where did he end up? Red Room with Mikey (do they always credit him as Phillip Gerard tho?). Lotta cred to you and yours - all I meant was that The Black Lodge always invoked this scene for me. Not great sleuthing though.
agreed most is not obvious ,, this is though.. Remember Sarah in S2 talking to Briggs - Im in the Black lodge with Agent Cooper.
"You keep using that word, I do not think it means what you think it means."
How is this still confusing people?
All evidence suggests that Cooper was in The Black Lodge. Literally, ALL evidence.
Hawk - 'In the Black Lodge you will meet your shadow-self' Cooper meets his Doppelganger there.
Sarah Palmer being possessed - 'I'm in The Black Lodge with Dale Cooper.'
Bad Cooper 'they are going to try and take me back to the place they call The Black Lodge tomorrow.'
I'm not really sure how much more confirmation you need before making a decision on this.
Now, as for The White Lodge? That's different. We've seen The Fireman's place, but nobody ever refers to it as The White Lodge...so we can't definitely make that claim.
The Convenience store is clearly a place spirits meet up for meetings, like a youth center for Lodge entities, as well as being like a train station between dimensions and times.

I agree that the red room is just a waiting room that is part of both lodges so that is why different spirits interact with Cooper there, both good and bad.
First off, in the season 2 finale, the giant and "senor droolcup" both appear to him in the waiting room and in the return, it is where we always see mike, who is clearly helping the real cooper. It think the beings that live in the black and white lodges have access to the waiting room and it's a neutral zone (between them). That is why doppelgangers are just hanging out there too. It's an entrance/exit point
Secondly, in FWWM, Annie says "Cooper is in the lodge"- not black or white, which to me, means he's technically in the lodge but prob still just in the waiting room. Waiting for DoucheCoop who took his pot in reality, to return.
The convenience store is not the black lodge because Evil Coop just goes there no prob. He did not want to reenter the black lodge so he wouldn't go there is that's what it was.
I'm not sure Cooper has even been to it. When Mrs. Palmer delivers the message to Briggs in season 2, it's supposedly from windom earle, who obviously didn't know everything he thought he knew (hence BOB taking his soul) so it could have just been his assumption that he had made it to the black lodge. Or maybe the other rooms were the black lodge? who knows? I just like reading the theories 🙂
