Jerry is Richard's great uncle.

Did we see Richard's body afterward?

No body.

I have to rewatch it, but I believe he's actually 'reduced' to a shadow right before the very end.  Kinda like the victims at Hiroshima and Nagasaki, just without the wall.

Could he be traveling somewhere though? Just as Hastings did? I find it hard to believe that Coop went to these exact coordinates just to kill his son that he previously didn't have with him. He was already looking for that place well before Richard was with him.

I thought his head popped off...?

I loved Jerry's part - he reminded me of Scrat from Ice Age...

my thoughts are that it was a trap to pull back mr c. he suspected it and that's why he used richard as a guinea pig to test it out.

That's his uncle.

That's hilarious...I didn't think of that until you mentioned it.

That's a good thought!

Is it a rule that Doppels go into non-existence once they are returned to the Black Lodge?  I thought that was just Tulpas?

I didn't necessarily think that Richard was automatically killed.  He seemed to bend just like Coop did when he went from the Mauve Room to the model home with Jade. I thought maybe Richard would show up in a Lodge.  Of course he did take a lot of current, and DoppelCoop did seem to act like he was dead.

I guess I'm accustomed to thinking in Twin Peaks, dead is rarely dead. 🙂

I would not assume that Richard is entirely gone.  He'll at least show up as some kind of body on the other side.  Mr C's goodbye to him seemed genuine.

That was my husband's thought. That he was merely another tulpa.
