Around the dinner table, the conversation was lively. Thank you but for now, the forum has been archived.
But season 2 already had a Maddy in Twin Peaks (named after Madeline Ferguson, as we understood 25 years ago)
We haven't seen or heard from Maddy since her death (unlike Laura). I'm intrigued by the possibility that Maddy might return in some form as Judy. Especially if Maddy turns out to be Laura's doppelganger as has been proposed.
I really hope that "Judy" is not the secret identity of someone we already know. Or a monkey.
Yeah, I hear you. Although in Lynch's hands something that on paper might sounds as cheesy or tired as a big reveal of a secret identity usually becomes something much more subtle, interesting and mysterious.

A monkey would be so wrong.
After what happened to Josie it wouldn't surprise me if Judy is a toilet flush.
I'm thrown off by this paragraph. Are you saying that Maj. Briggs, in addition to leaving instructions for Bobby, Hawk and Frank, provided the coordinates for the same place (where they found Naido) to Bill Hastings and Ruth as well as Phillip Jeffries (or Jeffries impersonator) who then passed them on to Mr. C (perhaps mistakenly thinking he was giving them to the real Dale Cooper)? I don't think that's right. Briggs had requested coordinates from Bill and Ruth, not the other way around, and I can't recall anything that would strongly suggest that the coordinates Maybe-Jeffries passed along to Mr. C came from Briggs. Am I forgetting/missing something?
I'm not going to theorise about Judy...
we see a very peculiar telephone with letters linked to numbers.
Please tell me that there's something else peculiar about this phone - as to me that looks like an ordinary rotary-dial phone. Or am I just really old???

Ahah i've never seen something like that before (but i'm 25 and the fault is mine 🙂
When asked about who Judy is, Jeffries shows part of the coordinates and right after that we see a very peculiar telephone with letters linked to numbers.
The complete coordinates are 48°55'14.2"N 117°26'39.3"W
If we use the code of the telephone, the sequence 2639 is hiding the name "Andy". He is Judy!
I think you're actually onto something here! Very interesting catch!

Lol! I officially belong in a museum... once upon a time all phones looked like this:

In Ezekiel's defense, I didn't recall letters being on rotaries. Been a while since I've used one.
An aside, I attended college in my thirties and used a pay phone symbol in one of my works and half the students hadn't a clue what it was.

Yeah, they all used to look like this. That doesn't mean that the letters don't have some significance here--but it's probably something general about the age of the phone.
Believe it or not, we used to use the letters to memorize phone numbers, kind of the way Diane was mouthing words to remember the coordinates in that one scene.

As an aside, my daughter, when she was 2 was given a plastic rotary toy phone. She instinctively recognized it as a phone, even though the only phones she had ever seen were smartphones (iPhones, Android phones, etc).
How is that even possible?
