Around the dinner table, the conversation was lively. Thank you but for now, the forum has been archived.
The history of Judy, vis a vis Lynch/Frost's scripts over the last 27 years:
"What it does not do, however, is explain why—at two hours, eight minutes and 21 seconds into the film—an image of a monkey appears on screen and clearly says the word, "Judy." This very deliberate scene suggests something else entirely about Judy. But what?"

Judy could be another incarnation of Laura Palmer, and it could be another reference to Hitchcock's Vertigo. After her death Laura first reappeared as Madeleine and she might return again as Judy. Lynch has acknowledged Vertigo as a source of inspiration. It's much like his fascination with Sunset Boulevard, of which he showed a short excerpt in part 15, and which appears to have finally woken Cooper from his trance. For those not familiar with Vertigo, the heroine is first introduced as Madeleine (whom she is impersonating,) but her real name is Judy.

Yes, I love this.
Monkey says, "Judy" directly before Laura Palmer's body discovered in FWWM (9:58): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zX-ixopNJWM
AND I have a feeling that Mr. C didn't experience anything that Cooper experienced before he was brought back as "Dougie."
Quite possible. I hadn't thought about the interim: the time between Lodge and earth. Good thought
My thought is: As long as one of them is in the Lodge, they have a sort of shard consciousness; meaning, the one in the Lodge will possess the memories/experiences of the one out and about in the "earthly realm." But, once both of them are physically in the earthly realm so to speak, their consciousness diverged or separated.
I totally disagree there is nothing to confirm that statement, I don't see them sharing any of the experience they are having within or outside of the lodge

It's been alluded to (I'll avoid using confirmed) numerous times. The most recent example is Mr C rembering the encounter with Jeffries in FWWM. I guess one could argue that someone told him about that encounter and he didn't actually recall it from memory. What's your explanation?

Logged in just to like that comment.
My bet is Laura/Judy is trying to destroy Bob by killing him/Mr. C.
I love the Judy/Garland theory, especially with all the red shoes we've been seeing. But I just rewatched that missing pieces clip with Jeffries checking into Buenos Aires and he asks about Judy and the desk clerk says yes and something about a "seniorita." So if that's worth anything now I think we're looking for a lady Coop has met.
Judy can be the miss tremond/chalfont character don't you think??
Somehow DoppelCoop's worry about who Judy and Jeffries toying with him on the subject makes him vulnerable.
I guess, for at least two reasons:
- It connects him to old Cooper, who must've been wondering who Judy is ever since FWWM.
- Ladykiller DoppelCoop seems afraid of a girl!
In general I do note, as pointed out by others elsewhere, that DoppelCoop has gotten more likeable the last few parts... (Since Bob left him?) Who'd ever guessed?
Judy is Josie's sister.
Could Judy be the one that unlocked the door so Mr C could speak with Jeffries?
Judy is either Major Garland Briggs, Josie's sister, some connection with a monkey, Laura/Madeline the Vertigo connection or Audrey wearing red shoes. Cooper as met Garland Briggs, Laura/Madeline and Audrey. Garland Briggs, Laura and Madeline are dead. Briggs is the only one who could have feasibly met Phillip Jeffries in Buenos Aires in 1987 using Judy as a psydonum. Audrey is the only one who is alive either living or in a coma.
