Back to the electrical thing...
Breakers here are designed to trip out at 30 milliamps, within 30 milliseconds, which isn't enough to fry a mouse.
Then again, when an idiot contractor wired my oven wrong, the breaker welded itself into the contacts and took out the main fuse in the meter. But, it must be said, that sort of thing is extremely rare. Even the manufacturers couldn't work out why it happened.
They can't kill Sonny Jim. I can't take it. I know there have been lots of signs, but NO!
I think the kid will survive.
Is it possible to kill yourself with US house current? It's half our voltage for one thing, and I'd guess they have breakers on all the house wiring.
It would take a determined effort - and some knowledge of electrical wiring - to kill yourself here, at least in any house built in the last 30 odd years. I'm guessing the Jones family home is quite new and with up to date wiring.
I touched an electric fence for horses when I was about 5 and I didn't die (but I did get a strange fascination with electricity). It hurt though. It felt like burning and freezing at the same time. It just kept on burning and freezing long after. Not sure what kind of voltage those have. This was the Southern US in the 80's (I've lived in Australia for most of my adult life, however).
I guess, after coming out of an outlet, he felt some sort of "call" from it (in this cases, 'listening to the sounds' is fundamental).
The first crackle of electricity I heard, "He's going to stick his fork in an outlet" entered my brain. In the part 14 discussion someone predicted he would get tazed and wake up . . . Pretty close.
That was me. After I came to understand that Naido was changing the electric current from Ac to Dc, i figured it would take a jolt of electricity to bring good Coop back. I guessed a taser because of the assassination of Dougie plot and that they might try to subdue him first. I got that wrong but when Coop looked at the socket i started saying "I knew it, I knew it."
Well, they left us with a cliffhanger (if only for 1 week) so i cant be sure I was right but it's looking strongly like I was correct. Good Coop is back!
I've seen Sunset Blvd numerous times and somehow never noticed the presence of a Gordon Cole. The only explanation I can think of is that many of the viewings were before Twin Peaks, and that in subsequent viewings I tended to fast-forward through all but the critical scenes.
LONG Tome since I have seen it- seems it is a bit part, in imdb it says. The actor playing Gordon Cole is uncredited.

One note.... the name Gordon Cole appears 11 times in the Sunset Boulevard script. Also, the names Norma and Desmond are also in the movie. (And... thinking Mulholland Drive, there is a main character named Betty)
He didn't try (or succeed) to kill himself. I'd guess "Gordon Cole" stirred very strong memory and emotion, leading Cooper to desperately try and reconnect with the lost parts of himself.. parts he instinctively knows were left behind in a realm accessible through electrical current.. Let's hope it works!
Yes. But I think he is still in the house and Chantal is probably on the way there. Dale will survive but I have an idea how things may end for Janey-E.
See, I think it's Sonny Jim whose going to be caught in the crossfire.
What is really disturbing is that Chantal is hungry to play at her sadistic ritual killing. But I have a feeling that she will die next week, a nasty death. And hopefully without doing any harm to this "family ".
Hi Jocelyn,
Yes, Chantal is as starved for torture as she usually is for fast food. And as her business-like, deliberate do-over of Roger shows, collateral damage is not a big concern for her. I hope Janey-E has her mother-bear claws (hmmm, maybe bear claws will slow Chantal down a little ;-)) razor-sharp and ready by the time Hutch and Chantal slouch into Las Vegas.
I think her hunger to hurt someone ultimately will have an unintended benefit for the Jones family. With Coop apparently (hopefully, anyway) fork-shocked back to normalcy, any sidetracking by the sadistic Chantal may make it hard for the torture twins to keep up with the Joneses. 😉

YES! I see an end to both Chantal and Hutch coming. It was only a matter of time. All that fast food would eventually get them anyway.
I never cheered so hard for someone to stick a fork in an electrical outlet! Only Lynch can make you do something like that when your fav character is trying to electrocute himself ?
We all want to see the old Dale so badly but I wouldn't be shocked to see Dougie Coop is still Dougie Coop next week.
It feels unlikely Coop either tried to and/or succeeded in killing himself. That would make the whole concept of the season (there can only be ONE COOPER) suddenly pointless.
I do wonder if Coop is headed into the power lines for Twin Peaks or elsewhere. And it remains to be seen whether this jogs his memory.
If they simply put him in the hospital that would be LAME.
My feeling is that he will survive the shock, the breaker did it's job and took the power out. I saw no signs of him being wet or crawling in water. It will be interesting to see what this means for the next episode. I still worry for the future of Sonny Jim and his wife. Could even see the hit team showing up about the same time as the FBI and all hell breaking loose.
Shock therapy.
Douglas Jones moved like a cobra--or maybe an electric eel.

We all know that hospital is a bad scene.
