In the "real world" that response would be inappropriate. But in the world of TP most especially and all the victimization of women, I cheered her like no other. I won't lie and say there have not been times when I wished I could respond the same when being harassed and threatened. And yes, he most definitely threatened her. Oddly enough, I've been severely harassed in that very same bar so this was a therapeutic moment/scene for me.
Good? Maybe. Bad? Possibly. I'm not sure it needs to be so black and white.

No need to cry. It's all a learning experience and my experience wasn't nearly as caustic as Sarah's was depicted. But can't say I didn't wish I could pull my face off and rip somebodies throat out. But even if I could, I probably wouldn't. It's just nice to see some empowerment for once (or maybe twice?) in the show. 😀
If I was Sarah, I wouldn't feel empowered after this event. She has to continue with the knowledge she killed someone in cold blood. She also has to continue living with that alien thing inside her. I imagine that is far worse than some asshole in a bar. When I watch her I'm filled with horror for her. I pity the poor woman. She's been through a lot.

Most men, even men trying to pick up anything remotely lay-able, would respect an old woman minding her own business. That is what made this person even worse than a piece of slime like Jacques in my opinion. He was clearly a stand-in for the worst men of our time--the worst of ordinary men who don't have the power to manipulate with money or public influence.
I find myself struck, considering all this, at the way she talked to herself in the grocery store. In the second person, as if trying to access and speak to the "Sarah" part of her. Cuz clearly, thee is something else in there as well...

Yes, all of that "demonic" possession is truly not a happy place and that was not my insinuation. I was looking at it from a micro POV instead of the macro. Perhaps this is my own fallacy or perhaps it was just a moment in time. I'm really not saying it was a truly empowering moment for the character, more for me as the watcher.
However, the knowledge that she killed someone in cold blood...... not sure that's going to keep her up at night since I don't think the naturally born Sarah was really part of this act and may or may not have memory of it. But such occurrences may be why she loves her bloody marys so much.
