Either Diane has a doppelganger who's in the same hotel as her and alternating between scenes, or she's not in cahoots with Mr. C, that's all we can say.
(Additionally, story-wise, it'd be pointless for her to go to such lengths to recover the coordinates for Mr. C when he himself got them back from Ray... I call red herring.)
Janey-E being a tulpa: I don't buy it. Where's Jim from then? An orphanage?
It's weird that the FBI ony has a lead on 'Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Jones.' I mean, why the hell didn't Cole tell them the wife's maiden name..? So weird. Maybe they'll just find the wrong couple, wasting more time, giving a bigger chance for Chantal & her beau to get a hit on Dougie. (Which, of course, won't happen. It's the anticipation that's fun.)
Cole's questioning is maddening: his phone conversation with Truman was ridiculous - you'd want Laura's diary pages scanned in and sent ASAP, send out an agent to TP, check out on any Briggs connection, and so on and so on...
Just a TV show, deep breaths...

It's possible that - out of scene - he's already asked someone to get on it. Director Cole, not Gopher Cole.
Maybe Mr. C brought Major Briggs head when he visited her that night.

I assume that a crime-fighting unit that relies on coded physical movements from Lil, rock throwing at bottles, dreams of Monica Bellucci, and the consciousness-expanding properties of caffeine cannot be bothered with the mundane investigative practices of traditional law enforcement.
It's true that TP mastered the art of ellipsis, especially when it comes to investigations. After all, the Richard and Chad cases did most of their progress off screen.

Bullseye observation IMO.
One thing is certain:
Diane deliberately pointed them into Vega's direction.
Hi Octavio,
Well, whoever is texting Diane pointed them at Vegas. Although, it seemed as if Diane certainly knew what the texter meant. >:-|

I think you're right Ric. She was waiting for the right moment/question to make her move on someone's behalf.
However, we souldn't disregard the fact that the FBI task is already aware of her texts.
