Let's address this gigantic connection handed over on a silver platter.
Jane Evans is Diane Evans' sister. I am really disappointed in myself for not seeing this one coming. It's a perfect plot line stinger for soap operas, and this show is great with its wonderful distortion and parody of it. Putting Dougie with Diane's estranged sister is absolutely incredible. Introducing Janey-E before Diane is maybe what hid it from me. Killed the anticipation. Round of applause to Frost/Lynch on this one.
One of the many satisfying revelations tonight.
It was completely unexpected. A great plot twist. That's why I love this show. I can usually anticipate plot well in advance, but this show is always several steps ahead of me.
I can't even begin to imagine what kind of reunion Janey-E and Diane will have. Both actresses have been fireballs in their scenes. If their relationship is strained, there could be some serious scene chewing.
I was literally shouting at the screen for a whole minute after that reveal. An absolute zinger of a plot twist.
But since Diane hasn't had any contact with her half sister for many years, does she know what Dougie looks like? How deep is she involved in this? I think she was just acting surprised in front of Gordon & Co.

Me too. I am still perplexed how that ring got into Briggs's stomach, though she said to Cole that Coop had mentioned Briggs to her when they last met, so there may be a connection there.
I think Briggs may have swallowed the ring himself to lead the FBI to Dougie. How did he get the ring is another story. Maybe Dougie pawned it because he was a gambler and in debt.

It makes sense, especially considering the previous text she received inquiring about Vegas. Also, Albert saw that and talked about it with Gordon. I wonder if they're going to connect the dots. I'm starting to feel Gordon isn't paying enough attention to Diane. Even in the scene when Albert told him about that message, on second watch one might argue that Gordon says "sometimes I worry about you" to Albert not just because he's the only member of the Blue Rose team who hasn't disappeared yet, but also because in his eyes he takes his job too seriously. While Gordon was having fun with that french girl, Albert was busy monitoring Diane's communications, even those that might look absolutely irrelevant.
Given that it's implied Diane and Cooper had a romantic liaison, what do you think her reaction is going to be, should she meet Janey-E and "Dougie".
That's going to be fun.
But I think she's lying. I don't think Janey-E is her half sister. She's just telling them what Mr C told her to say, or something. That is, if she is indeed in cahoots with him.
Gordon did sense that something was wrong when she hugged him. It's possible she was acting then, and she's acting now.

I don't agree. It fits perfectly that E is Evans, and it was such a good twist.

I think it's definitely possible and I rather enjoy this theory. But at the same time I also enjoy its (almost) opposite, that is Janey-E being her sister, who ended up marrying Dougie as part of Mr. C's scheme. I think this revelation opens up endless plot twists.
What I found also interesting was that it was the only other time other than the scene outside the prison, when Diane appeared vulnerable instead of her usual brash, angry self. It could be an act of course. If it is an ac, then Diane needs to learn some moderation instead of swinging from one to the other.
Mr. C had to make Dougie and keep him alive so he could fulfill his purpose. So Mr. C has to know more about Janey - E. He had to choose the home for his creation that would protect it otherwise his plan wouldn't work. Lots of questions....maybe we will get an answer or two
