What was David Lynch thinking? Terrible music.
🙂
And where is Julee Cruise?
That Everley brothers thing in Ep 3 was the lowlight for me. Was this week's act auto-tuned to death again?
Julee Cruise is scheduled to appear - I'm guessing that will be in the last episode?
Watching Twin Peaks for the music is like watching an "Adult" movie for the acting.

Fine for me, FB, though not my kind of music; they've all been thematically linked to the episodes. It seems an updated version of "In Heaven Everything is Fine" - in America/the modern world everything is (promised to be) fine, as long as you're adventurous (or moral or religious) enough. In a world-with-Andys, everything is fine. Oversimplified, but I find these ideas interesting , especially in relation to part 14 and to TPTR as a whole. It is a moral tale.
Lissie. Got her own introduction. Was a very poor act and completely out of step with the episode.

Perfect statement. Not going to push the issue, but I hate when we see the road house this season. On re-watch I fast forward through all the live music scenes. I've said before, the creators and I don't share the same taste in music.
I don't care much for the Roadhouse performances. The one I really liked was James', and that was for nostalgia reasons. I also miss the jazzy music in the original run.
OP doesn't like the music = the music is terrible.
Hot take.
I enjoyed the Chromatics performances, and of course James Hurley. Not a fan of "The" Nine Inch Nails (though it was incredibly appropriate and fit the episode well), and none of the other performances are memorable enough to stick in my mind. This week's felt out of place to me.
FWIW, I don't mind the music at all. I wish there was some more variety, though; there's only so much plinky plunk a guy can listen to.
Interesting. This household thought it was actually one of the better act, musically not visually since it seems the singer (Lissie?) was totally overacting her lip sync. My favorite still being NIN.
I do however miss the dreamy jazziness of old. It was so fitting and this season the music seems more like a side show and less like part of the ambiance. It's really the only and very mild complaint I have.
I think all of the S03 bands have been shite, but 'yknow what opinions are like...

It's not just a sideshow, it's a no-show. The music in TP S1&2 was, like, there all the time. It was in every inch of the audio tape. Here it's really incidental, mostly referential. ("Oh, let's put Laura's theme here, that's thematically relevant.") I don't know which I prefer, as I'm not a big jazz head and I prefer stuff like Chromatics' song in episode 2, but I understand why either way could alienate viewers.

Sure. They're like ASSHOLES. Everybody has one. haha
Surely you've heard that before.
And don't call me Shirley.
