Around the dinner table, the conversation was lively. Thank you but for now, the forum has been archived.
Has anyone else noticed that we haven't seen the welcome to twin peaks sign yet? Or am I an idiot and just missed it? Also after rewatching the original series with the log lady intros I noticed the log lady pointed out her fireplace was boarded up... and in a recent ep I think 9 dougie saw the one armed man in the fire place so I am thinking they may also be a portal... also maybe something about red chairs too? Maybe I'm crazy but let me know what you think
As everyone knows, the sign was shown in several teasers, and the original painter was asked to recreate it.

I'm certain we'll see it again (and guessing it'll be when Cooper drives back into town, possibly WITH Diane in the driver's seat). The question is, will it be the same version we've seen in the teasers?
I am interested in your red chair theory. Andy and Lucy are getting a red chair. The chair at the Briggs house was a red chair. The booths at the roadhouse are red. The seats at the double-R are red.
The seats in the Red Room (and in Gordon's red curtained hotel meeting room) are brown.
The idea has me thinking. I have no thoughts on fireplaces, though.

In what I recollect was the "log lade intro" for the final (or perhaps penultimate) episode of the original series (the log lady intros were filmed for the first Bravo rebroadcast of TP- remember when Bravo was an ARTS network?), she points out to us that her fireplace is blocked up, and speaks about that fact provocatively...the intros are included in the bluray set.
Well the log lady's house was out in the woods. Cooper talks to her as her log has information about Laura's murder. Her log saw two men and two girls go up to the cabin and one man follow. Which suggested she was near Reanult's cabin
I always thought the area of Renault's cabin was near the peaks and Glastonbury groove but I may be geographically out. I thought it was a fishing or hunting cabin near by. And Earle goes to it later so I always thought she was near the center of the crazy in the woods. So it may be blocked to keep out big bad wolves.
Fireplaces are supposed to be one of the popular places for witches getting in - and there's lots of tales about having rowan or hawthorn at doorways & fireplaces to keep them out. There's also a witches' mark - a St Andrew cross (like the saltire flag of Scotland) which keeps them away.
With all that going on, I'm surprised they ever managed to find any to try...
I remember feeling that the Welcome to Twin Peaks sign was held off to make us wait for it in FWWM. I think maybe we'll see the sign at the beginning of the final two hours.

That would make the most sense. Maybe it will be shown as Dougie/Coop is being driven into TP. That should wake him up.

Or it's being put into place, falls on his head & he awakens...?
