I wonder if the fingerprint match the Fuscos made but discounted might be the thing that leads the FBI team to the Las Vegas connection. If Dougie's prints are now part of the database, they'd just have to run another search to get that part of the story.
It almost seems too easy. Given the fun DL has been having at our expense, I would not be surprised if this potential "deus ex fingerprint" solution that he dangled in front of our noses went nowhere (except the trash).
They ran the prints through IAFIS, the Integrated Automated Fingerprint Identification System. It is the major law enforcement fingreprint database in the US . It is operated by the FBI.
The FBI has the identification on these prints.
