I've been reading discussions here since the beginning, but this is my first forum post.  I'd like to know if events in EP13 affected your thinking about who Diane is communicating with.  I think it is unlikely that she is working with Mr. C.  Mr. C asked Ray for the coordinates, as though he didn't have them yet.  Diane would have already provided the coordinates if they were working together.  It's possible that Mr. C might want to have coordinates from 2 sources, but that doesn't seem likely to me.

There have been multiple plots to get Mr. C back to the lodge.  I see Diane as wanting to undermine Mr. C. as a way to recover from whatever trauma he subjected her to in the past.  What do you think?

I still stick to the "no idea" platform of thinking.

But I've ever quite bought in to the theory of her working with Mr. C.  Her initial meeting with him and following convo with Gordon just don't fit.

There's whole issues around timelines, time loops and the order we're seeing things in. I sorta hope shes not working with him despite what we've seen but the fact he hasn't heard from her in his timeline doesn't mean she hasn't sent it. If that makes sense

Diane seemed so traumatized by the prison conversation with Mr. C.  I would have expected Gordon to ask her about it by now.

Good point.  Just because we haven't seen her send the coordinates, doesn't mean that she didn't.

Gordon, I would guess, has enough sense to know he wouldn't get an answer he could trust, so best bet is to leave things as they are and see if they can get any further info by intercepting her calls and messages, or see how else she may give the game away.

IMO, Diane is working either on her own, following her own agenda, or working for another person or group entirely.  Maybe Philip Jeffries.  Someone definitely not friendly with Mr C, at any rate.

She seemed to want to tell Gordon about it.  Perhaps if he approached her in a fatherly way she might reveal something.

I very much doubt it.  Diane is under a lot of strain and like most people, will give little things away without even realizing.  But to spill the beans?  Definitely not, if she's following another agenda.  For all we know, she may well have the idea to get revenge on Gordon and the whole Bureau for involving her in the situation, all those years ago.

True.  If she wants to tell, it's probably best if she initiates the conversation.

I'm in the camp that thinks that Diane is reluctantly cooperating with Mr. C under duress.  I haven't seen any other theories about it but I wonder if she isn't under some kind of surveillance by him as well.  I had an idea about that a few episodes ago but I don't see anything for or against the idea.  There was a lot of noise about him raping her and that caused the tension you see when they are face to face.  But I think he could have just as easily gone to see her to tap her for her Coopers FBI connections, threatened and intimidated her, and possibly used some of that crazy tech to remind her that he'd be listening or watching or something like that.

All we know is that she cut herself off from the FBI at some point and she's got a bunch of boyfriends and a decent apartment.  For all we know the "stable of suitors" could be guys that come in to check on her for DoppleCooper.  (Not saying Diane couldn't have boyfriends, just saying it's a possibility.)

Alternately she could have been leading her own investigation or have been tapped by Phillips Jeffries without DoppleCooper knowing.  They've made it seem like she doesn't care about Dale's fate but I think that's impossible. I think it's more likely she's having to play it safe because of her run in with Bad Coop but still trying to figure out the mystery on her own.  Maybe she's pissed at the Blue Rose task force because they "lost" him.  Maybe he stable of suitors is actually working for her.

MAYBE I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT'S GOING ON WITH DIANE.

THIS MAY REQUIRE A SMALL CHANGE OF ATTITUDE ON YOUR PART, DIANE.

may be one of my top 10 favorite quotes of the season.

Great quote Christen!  I love it too.

Isn't it fun watching David Lynch and Laura Dern having fun together in front of the camera?  I loved the tense hug in the Yankton prison.

It is!  Though I have to admit I'm still trying to catch up on my David Lynch movies.  I did finally watch Blue Velvet and it was fun to see baby Laura Dern and Kyle McLachlan acting together.

I think the Gordon/Albert scenes are show stealers.  These two have worked together for too long and I love every minute of it.  I'm rewatching the original series with a friend who has never seen it and I loved Albert's first appearance so much more.  Not to mention Dale "Ray of Sunshine" Cooper who stands in the background smiling at Albert because he knows he's the best forensics expert in the world and then smiles and gives Harry a huge thumbs up for standing up to Albert and letting him know he'd punch him in the face if he badmouthed his station again.

Augh!  I'm going to be so sad when this is over!  I need to find out where I can watch those other Lynch movies!

Yes, Albert and Gordon are classic together!

"Albert....the Cossacks are in Russia."

"Say please."
