Yes, she's looking for her lover, Billy, not Richard.
Filler episode?? I suppose I'm a bit puzzled at some people's expectations & disappointment in characters...
I'll try to answer your question.
What exactly happened that episode? Like what would you NOT want to share with someone who didn't see it yet and was afraid of spoilers?
I got
1. Sarah is nuts, maybe possessed.
2. Audrey is looking for her son. Is married to some weird midget guy.
3. Diane is talking to Mr C still, gordon knows about it (which we already knew)
That's it. This season has had a ton of drawn out filler.
Right - and that's what you thought of it. That's up to you.
I didn't think it was a 'filler' episode - and I really don't 'get' why some folk have built up scenarios & are disappointed when they don't appear on the screen. That was my comment.
I'm not sure why I'm supposed to explain that to anybody...?If you didn't like it, you didn't like it.
Most of the season has been filler. not to be snarky, but answer what I asked? The amount of important stuff given can be covered in 30 min an episode. It just seems WAY drawn out (which I know is what lynch does, but geesh).

My bad, you're right.
No that's fine I just got confused .. like I wasn't reading between the lines but I do agree with you with the expection of Audrey and that Truman and Ben scene I knew all of this stuff already

Desmond is a real person.
Hutch made good on his promise to kill the warden.
Jerry escaped the woods.
Miriam survived.
The sheriff knows who killed the boy in the street.
Gordon is NOT fooling around with Tammy, but rather a piece of French eye candy.
Everything is leading back to Twin Peaks.

Right - we get that, you've said it.
Why on earth would I answer what you asked? I thought you had already *explained* it to me anyway...
Oh boy.. listen everyone is entitled to their own opinions.. but that title of tonight's episode meant something to me.. I honestly thought it was going to blow my mind a little but honestly the best part to me was when Diane made that snapping sound with her fingers and said let's rock .. even dr jacoby stuff was repeats of things he had already said.. I just wasn't very happy with the episode .. but it's my opinion

I thought desmond was real before the episode.
I don't think the shooting is really important to the series (maybe if will be down the road?)
We knew she survived last week.
I thought we knew that the sheriff knew who killed the kid?
I didn't think Gordon was nailing Tammy.
We knew everything was leading back to twin peaks when they retrieved the capsule from the chair.

What son is Audrey looking for? It certainly ain't Billy. LOL
ETA: Nevermind, I see I'm late to this.

Now that may be something to find out.
I talk to two friends about the series. One is a giant peaks fan (and about to bail and just binge watch when it's over) the other is just going to watch all when it's over.
I say things and wonder "will this spoil it" for the friend waiting and then think "nah" and then wonder what would even be a spoiler at this point.

Lmfao.. I think your safe no matter
What you say at this point
When I first saw Audrey talking, I though she might be in an insane asylum and the whole conversation was a fantasy-role play with her psychiatrist. The I thought she was an actress doing a show. A far cry from the political activist who chained herself to the bank vault door.
At least we know she isn't comotose, but that's about all we know. Billy may be dead, that could be why her husband ????became quiet after the phone call. Not sure it has anything to do with Richard.
Honestly, your theory, your reading of this scene really speaks to me. Something felt off on purpose to me; not like over-the-top acting or weird pacing. This is hard to admit, but seeing that guy as Audrey's husband was extremely difficult for me; in no realm can I imagine Audrey falling for that man, for many many reasons, not least of which he is a little person and Audrey doesn't strike me as open-minded enough to look past that. That is, unless something else is going on. Perhaps she was blackmailed; maybe I'm missing something; etc. Your theory, though, seems wholly plausible to me.
Others have mentioned how no one even mentions contacting Audrey. Maybe this is because she is -trapped- somewhere.
I will offer this: the original run came from a set of ideas that originated in Goddess, and was going to be a film about Marilyn Monroe. Which character in the original series seemed most akin to Marilyn? Most iconic? If you readGoddess, one of the most memorable exchanges comes from a time when Marilyn was placed inside an insane asylum for women. This happens toward the end of the book; that is, less than 3 years before she dies.
Could Audrey have become so traumatized that she's never fully regained consciousness after the explosion and theoretical rape?
The Albert and Gordon stare off was annoying and pointless. The rest at least had a point.
If, as one theory states, Audrey doesn't know Richard is her son, then perhaps he has been introduced to her as "Chuck." Another possibility is that "Chuck" is a nickname for Richard, which is what I am inclined to suppose.
