When Phillip Gerard asks Dougie to come towards him could potentially be one timeline, while Dougie walking towards the limo with the box could be another timeline (or the actual brother Mitchums dream within the dream!). Did you notice the seldom blurry moments during that second "timeline"?
Didn't notice any blurring. I don't think there are two timelines.
The blurring might just be slowdown in the streaming feed. For a show like this it can really mess up a first-time viewing if you're looking for every single clue.
Indeed, I was streaming. Up in California at 6PM-7PM. So the blurry might be the devices.
Now, I insist. Dougie does not have the box when he walks towards the red room. Phillip Gerard caused the situation to buy the Cherry Pie...thats why Dougie had to go that way!!!
Agreed. I think Philip Gerrard supplied the pie. But my question is now this- how do the Mitchum brothers factor into this scenario? And apart from the obvious Double R reference, what about that cherry pie?
I assumed whatever shop the one armed man was motioning Coop to sold the cherry pie... knowing that would be needed to save Coops life
The red room was leading him into a bakery. He bought the pie from the bakery, then continued to the car. No timeline split here.

Exactly...but it really wasn't that clear watching it in real time...distracted byt Gerard and then the weird name of the place above the door. It wasn't like it said "BAKERY"...
It didn't make sense right away, but did so once he got to the Mitchum brothers and they looked inside the box.
This is David Lynch, remember? He doesn't always spell things out. There's not going to be a big sign above the door reading BAKERY. We're supposed to make the connection.

Yeah...makes sense...I'm just saying that now that I know what he was doing, if I go back and watch it again, I'm sure I'll plainly see that it's a bakery. Hah.
I think he also had a bit of a lucid moment when he saw the red room.

I think it said it was a coffee shop

Yes, it said it was a coffee shop, but the sign read:
SZYMON's
Famous Coffees
but the O in the name looked like a pie of some kind.
And if you pronounce the name of the coffee shop as Simon's, then remember the poem:
"Simple Simon met a pieman".

Good catch! 😀
Did anyone else feel like the pie in the box was an homage to Seven?? I was dying, I loved that so much.
