So elusive I can't even find an image to share with you.  Go back and watch Episode 10 again and right before Gordon calls over Tammy to have a look at Albert getting his mack on with the mortician, a woman walks by briefly occupying most of the camera field.  She appears to have a small French flag in one hand, and a bouquet of roses in the other held close to her heart.

Immediately it made me think of the coded messaging that "Lil" did in Fire Walk With Me, and it's so unusual that it would be amazing if that little bit of detail were not totally intentional.  I mean if it's not, and had some woman with those items just casually strolled across the floor, why not re-shot the scene?  Fire that non-credited extra and take an extra day of filming/editing.  But they left it in - and it's just long enough that you notice, but not long enough that most people's brains remembered the detail after the fact.

Thoughts? Did you guys see it?

I saw it, yes, but no thoughts. It was such a lovely scene, so the flag-lady didn't stay in my mind for very long.

Didn't they do some filming in France?  Perhaps it really was an accidental inclusion.

I thought from trailers the filming in France will be the location of the story moves to France. Wasn't the Eiffel tower in some of the Showtime Trailers????

At the end of each episode, I'm sure it says something about a grant from the French Film something-or-other.  I'd no idea that some of the filming had been done in France, so wondered how they managed to get the money.  🙂

The "White Lodge" scenes, with the Giant/Fireman, were filmed in Club Silencio, Paris.

Remember the Norwegian delegation up at the Great Northern?  Could be a similar thing happening at the place the Bureau team are staying.  Lynch is fond of non sequiturs in his stuff.

France has indeed been overtly flagged. Jumped out loud and clear. Shares colour symbolism with other recurring elements. In the last episode we had the USA flag, an object of fixation for our protagonist.

All the background people are paid extras, they don't just show up in a place & start filming.

Is it just another red coloured (partially red in this case) object? There was at least 3 very distinct that i  spotted on this episode:

- The patch on Richard's Car

-The cup that flew out of the trailer

-Candie's little scarf (fly killing device)

Maybe this scene was recorded after the terrorist attacks in Paris (2015.11.13).

Possibly a support to France by Lynch at this time.

(I remember an episode of "The Simpsons" with a short animation of Lisa and a french flag few days after the attack).

I wonder whether it might be a small nod to Kieslowski's Three Colours trilogy - the three films use colour in a very symbolic manner (Blue - Liberte, White - Egalite, Red - Fraternite).

Lol.  Well, surely Lynch can't catch everything, right? Nobody's perfect. 😉

May be something to this.  She did seem to have it held to her heart.
