Richard Horne is not Bob. He's a spoiled child from a rich family, presumably abandoned by his mother and raised by grandparents. A biography related to serial killers'. Not to mention that he may be the son of a evil doppleganger.
He also has a clear mysoginy which may be a strong sign that Audrey abandoned him. Always calling women B+tch and co+ksucker etc.
Totally agree, to me he looks like someone who's begging for attention. Especially in the scene with Red, he looks like he's trying to get approval and the fact he was treated like a child drives him mad.
But also, one thing I remembered from season 1, which could be relevant here, is Audrey saying to Coop (when talking about Johnny) that mental illness runs in her family.

Yeah, Red basically emasculated Richard and that, coupled with running over the boy, in part, caused him to lash out on those he deems weaker than himself. He's got some obvious mommy issues as well, so I'm sure a warped sense of revenge played a role in his attack on Sylvia.
His evil is realistic to me and not necessarily Bob related (while admitting it could be Mr C related). His acts of violence though, from what we've witnessed thus far, appear to be escalating.
Fathered by Mr C.
Hes half doppelganger for sure
That is my thought as well. I really wish we'd see Audrey soon. I am dying to know if she's in a coma somewhere or if she owns the experiment in the building in NY with the box, or if she is in an asylum after bearing the evilness that is Richard. Or something else.
I find Richard to be the scariest character ever in Twin Peaks
Anyone else thats been this evil has some concrete connection with evil spirits. Bob was scary but the fact that he was an evil spirit somehow made him less scary. Bob was pure evil because he embodied pure evil.
Richard on the other hand is just a young man (so far to our knowledge). He is human and he is evil and horrible. The fact that Red could belittle him makes me more scared of Richard. If Richard can be scarred he can retaliate or overreact and do horrible things.
Bob and the spirits were a concept of evil, but a Richard is human and that scares me. I'm so uncomfortable and worried whenever he is on screen.
Let's see...
Spoilt brat with an over inflated sense of entitlement, careless with money, no regard for other people, particularly women...
Gee, I just wonder who that could be?

As the Tremond "grandson" would say "The orange man in an oval room."

A mirror image of his mother before she met Coop??
Reddit users are discussing the possibility of Richard Horne being Audrey and Mr. C's child (via rape/coercion, or some dastardly scheme). Might explain the evil. Red is more a magician, I feel (his coin trick). He did point and shoot Shelly, at least echoing Leo Johnson's character...
