I don't recall if it is part 1 or 2 (I think it's 1) where the insurance man comes in to the Sheriff's office to ask to see Harry Truman and it is here where we learn from Lucy that there are 2 Trumans.
I think there might be more to this scene than just a pushy salesman.
He asks to talk to Truman, but we also see him surprised at the question of "which one?" He also left VERY quickly after giving Lucy his card, almost as though he got suddenly sick.
I'm wondering if he isn't being an unprepared insurance salesman, but he was genuinely shocked to discover there are two Trumans, as though there shouldn't be or he only knows the one. His sudden sharp turn to leave, if he was ill, could mean he is related to the Lodges somehow. Mike was a salesman too, afterall.
I don't know why, but something about the scene calls to me, it seems like there is more to it.
not only was Mike a shoe salesmen, the only one you see him actually sell to is Andy, right? so if the insurance salesman is also related to the lodges it'd be interesting that he'd be soliciting local police as well. i did think he left awfully fast!
There was a scene of Philip Gerard ( not Mike, who is from Black Lodge ) selling shoes to Harry, showing different styles. He has a feeling come over him, and heads to the bathroom to take his medication.
