Does anybody have any guesses as to who the dissolving black figure in the jail cell next to William Hastings was? At first I thought it looked like Jerry Horne, but more I'm not so sure...

Since the head floats away there could be a connection with the headless body in Ruth Davenport's bed? The black soul of the victim of Bill Hastings, who is in the adjoining cell? Was there not such a same corpulent corpse in David Fincher's 'Seven'? The 'gluttony' victim? A payback for the fact that Fincher nicked the letters-trace from Lynch (remember Lucy working with the R and T and B, if I recall collectly, in 1990/1991?)?

To me it looked a lot like the monster behind the wall in Mulholland Drive.

Here's a screen shot. I'm fascinated by this creature.

I started basically the same thread and made the same Jerry Horne link and body with severed head link but have no idea either removed link

I guess it's too early to tell but that's the most unsettling thing I've ever seen in TP either removed link

Here's the 'homeless person' in Mulholland Drive. I say no match...

Here's the full scene with Patrcik Fischler (who is also in the Las Vegas scene of Twin Peaks season 3). The title could be 'I had a dream about this place'. In several analyses of this scene Fischler -his character- is seen as the archetype of someone so afraid to fail to be on the verge of fainting/collapse/paralyses when confronted with evil/misery/symbols-of-failure. May be a hint for the Las Vegas storyline in TP season 3?

Looking at the black figure closer, he reminds me of the bearded guys in the creepy meeting Philip Jeffries described in FWWM. I can't find a great image of the scene in question, but it kind of looks like the one sitting on the couch.

Are you talking about this one?

I thought the same. Looked like the odd bloke who appeared above the convenience store in FWWM.  Black Lodge related.

When I first saw it, I thought it might have been a new actor hired to play Bob.

My first thought also was it looked like the lumberjack from above the convenience store.  Maybe he was caught in a fire of some sort? as he now looks burnt?

Lodge spirits travel through fire. They cannot be burnt.

I was just speculating about this on another FB group! I'm a little late to the party. I think they are the same character, who is purported to be the Log Lady's husband, as others have informed me.

From Wikipedia:

"It is revealed that the Log Lady's husband was a lumberjack who died in a fire on their wedding night decades before the events of the series. (The Log Lady later says that her husband "met the devil".) Nothing is revealed of her husband beyond this, save for that at some point before he died, her husband returned from a trip to Glastonbury Grove (which served as an access point to the metaphysical realms of both the White and Black Lodges) with a jar of mysterious oil, which he claimed was for "opening a gateway"
