I watched and rewatched Dark. I found that I had to make family charts to figure out who was who and what was happening. There has to be a next season of this one. Many questions unanswered, for example who is Peter Dopplers mother, and who is Reginas father.
We have already seen that many of them are related in unusual ways. I believe that by the end of it we will find that everyone is related to everyone else, and that the show is basically about incest across time lines. It is a very intriguing show, and I hope there is a next season for it.
Definitely confusing. Found a chart of family trees online that was really helpful but also ended up being a bit of a spoiler since there are some "strange" overlaps, if you know what I mean. 😉
Jack, is there really on 3 episodes of Black Mirror's season 1?

I am not sure, that doesn't seem correct. I will investigate...
Jack, is there really on 3 episodes of Black Mirror's season 1?
Yes, how silly! There are only 3 episodes in both season 1 and 2 and they doubled it to 6 for seasons 3 and 4.
Are you enjoying it?

I've only seen two episodes which means I am 2/3 of the way through the first season. Fully enjoyed thus far.
Black Mirror : there is a X-mas special episode ("White Christmas") between season 2 and 3 (aired in 2014 in UK).
So at this time 3 + 3 + 1 + 6 = 13 episodes were broadcasted.
The season 4 with all the 6 new episodes will be online on Netflix next friday.
Late to this party, though I recall almost posting something early on. I definitely had the experience of feeling like Twin Peaks had wrecked my ability to enjoy other things.
One exception that might seem odd is BoJack Horseman. That show really rewards a close watch - every time there is text on the screen there are jokes involved, for instance. In the most recent season, at one point, a contract appeared onscreen for probably less than a second, but I went back and paused and laughed several times as I read it. Also, it might seem on its surface to be a silly show about a talking horse, but is actually a pretty meaningful exploration of depression and addiction... That is also about a talking horse. Anyway, I watched most recent season shortly after TP ended and it was noteworthy to me that my TP eyes/attentiveness seemed to serve me well here.
I read through the thread... second recommendations for Black Mirror and Mr. Robot (though I have yet to see the third season). I'd also recommend 3% and, in a totally different register, I think Rectify is one of the best shows ever. Legion was also great, if you are looking for the weird. I watched it before The Return happened, so I don't know about that, but the one scene toward the end of the first season is something I could just watch on its own over and over and over...
This one (Legion): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ac8v7PhVE8
Massive spoiler warning, but I've also always wondered how someone might react to this scene without context, if you aren't uptight about that. Lack of context would also make it much less of spoiler...

Haven't heard of 3% or Rectify. Or Bojack Horseman for that matter. Where do I find these shows?
I'm still recommending Dark if you haven't seen it.
All are on the Netflix. Haven't gotten to Dark, yet, but it looks cool
Been watching Black Mirror. Gotta say, this show has some extremely strong social and political messages. It's like Twilight Zone on crack.

Yeah, its like The Twilight Zone or X-files...every episode isn't guaranteed to hit home. but the ones that do, reset your conscious. Even the ones that don't, still stimulate thought.
Enjoy!

They all hit home for me; some a little deeper than others.
It would have been amazing to have Lynch & Frost (separately or together) make and episode or 2.
p.s. What's the deal with that song?
I wonder if Mark Lynch couldn't be coaxed to write an episode of Black Mirror. Not sure David would direct anything that isn't his own show, but maybe if it were super special.
By the way, I just saw the series finale of Grimm (I know, it's years after, but it was just made a part of Amazon Prime) and it was riveting. The whole series wasn't that riveting, although it was watchable--but the finale knocked my socks off.
